outbound IAX calls bog down DSL
Evening, I've got * asterisk up and running with nufone account for inbound and outbound calls from the world... everything works quite nicely except that I noticed last night that when I have a call active from * to nufone, web surfing on the network slows to a crawl... additionally, I have a VPN tunnel to another office (using CIPE) and while inter-office (i.e. - SIP to SIP) calls

Color in console
Hey all. I have a color-capable console (color ls works, and I can run any color-smart program like naim and bitchX), but for some reason the color in the console for asterisk, whether started with -c or safe_asterisk, isn't working for me. Any ideas as to why? I don't think it's my termcap, although I could post that if y'all really wanted it. Asterisk was built, and is

pre-newbie - some basic questions...
Hello All, Been completely obsessed for the last two days with VoIP and Asterisk - running on 2 hours sleep and coffee - sorry if this is a little scattered... Okay, I've got a small start-up company that installs traditional PBX (Nortel mainly) systems, data network infrastructure, commercial audio/video, residential audio/video/voice/data and we do lighting control systems... I've

Linux disk quota support
Dear Listmembers, I installed samba-3.0.28 and configured --with-quotas, but I don't seem to be getting quota support. Is there a description on how to do quotas with samba? Is there something I should know about besides the configuration option --with-quotas? RHEL 5 compilation of Samba 3.5.2, termcap library problem, use '--no-as-needed'
There have been various reports of the difficulties compiling Samba 3.5.x on RHEL 5 and other older operating systems, due to the failure to correctly load the 'termcap' libraries. The issue is described in various sources as involving the automaticlaly included GCC option: '--as-needed' failes to detect the dependencies and add the termcap library. There are two graceful fixes

According to https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=499837 readline can be linked against either ncurses or termcap. No modern system would prefer termcap, and

x25 line xterm
Noted that xterm by default uses 24 lines per window. I have reviewed /etc/termcap looking for a specific entry for xterm that I can edit to change the ln#24 to ln#25 for our application. When I used RedHat there was an editable option to change the number of displayable lines as is done in putty. Any suggestions? --Hal. -- Hal Davison Observe Goal, Set the course, Burn the map

Help! - Unintelligible prompts and music
I have set up a couple of test Asterisk servers and have never had a problem with sound. I've just done a fresh install on a dual 1GHZ PIII Asus box running Fedora Core3 with the Digium PCI Dev kit and following all the various Core 3 How-To's. I can make calls ok but when any sound is sent from the Asterisk box such as voice prompts and music on hold the sound is completely chopped up in

Accurate Billing

hi everyone,

I know this issue has been raised many times before, i think still the problem remains. When a call is made through a Zap channel, whether it is actually made or not (irrespective of whether, engaged, busy, or actually answered), asterisk logs it in CDRs as a call made. This makes it impossible to do an accurate billing. Has anybody found a way to overcome
