Streaming MoH on 1.4
Hi, I've looked high and low for any changes that streaming MoH needs on Asterisk 1.4 (.21), followed NerdVittle's article about it (http://nerdvittles.com/index.php?p=92) yet nothing worked. After creating dir stream/ and touch stream.mp3, here's my musiconhold.conf [stream] mode=mp3 directory=/var/lib/asterisk/mohmp3/stream stream =>

mpg123 alternative?
Been using mpg123 for moh for the last two years or so. However, when I have * config errors, often times get a endless stream of console messages and need to kill the two mpg123 processes. Is there an alternative to mpg123 that eliminates that issue? I see references in musiconhold.conf relative to madplay, native file format, asterisk-addons, etc. Not sure why the asterisk-addon approach

Weird experience with MOH
Hi I thought I share this one, just in case this is an indication of some bug ... When I was trying to use music on hold at first, I didn't bother to copy any music into /var/lib/asterisk/mohmp3 since there was a sample- hold.mp3 in there which played just fine in a standalone MP3 player. But after uncommenting one of the lines in musiconhold.conf and doing reload on the console, there

Music On Hold - not working for me...
Hi all, I'm trying to make some simple MOH (Music On Hold) working. So far I've failed miserably - so I turn here for help. Basically I've been using the wiki and all the sample confs I could from there and via google. The queue system seems to work fine with my limited setup. Just 2 IAX2 clients where I keep Client B busy (by making it listen to mp3 via ext. 777) but logged into

slim server for moh
Hello, I have installed SlimServer for Windows on my desktop and Asterisk on a Red Hat Linux machine. I am able to play mp3's for music on hold when mp3s are on the Linux server, and to play streaming mp3's with Windows Media Player and Winamp on Windows using the slim server. I also have mpg123 on my Linux, apparently installed correctly, since it works for local moh. I put the

Asterisk 1.4.7 and MOH

Music on hold & Read error on sound device
I am having a problem getting music on hold working one of my servers. I have had this working on a PII 400 just fine but decided to upgrade my Asterisk server to a PIV 1.5ghz. I have installed mpg123 which seems to be working fine but when I start *, I get the following error message at the CLI prompt when I start *: WARNING[81931]: File chan_oss.c, Line 232 (sound_thread): Read error on

I have googled this to death, and all I get are reference to the MoH needing a Zaptel timing source, and then people saying no they don't any more. -- Set Response Timeout to 2 -- Executing BackGround("SIP/211-57ba", "my-greeting") in new stack -- Playing 'my-greeting' (language 'en') == CDR updated on SIP/211-57ba -- Executing

help on MOH config, pretty close?
Trying to test the music on hold function and can't seem to get it to work. If anyone has it running, could you give me a clue? (I have googled and found lots of questions, but no real suggestions.) I downloaded and installed the mpg123 package. From the RH9 console I can start the executable and hear the music via the speakers. The executable is located in /usr/bin. (That works!) I set the

MOH problems
I am trying to music on hold but I am having all sorts of problems with it. I am running RH9 and the latest version of Asterisk as of yesterday. Here is what I did to test it: 1. I manually deleted the mpg123 softlink to mpg321. 2. I downloaded mpg123-0.59r-1.n0i.src.rpm, compiled and installed the the archive and loaded ztdummy.o module. 3. I threw a couple extra files in the mohmp3 directory

Odd MOH problem...
So I decided, for the formal asterisk rollout, to change over to less commercially-infringing MOH than the prior admin had thrown on the server. (plus: it was blown out and nasty sounding over the phones. Ew.) I changed the files in /var/lib/asterisk/mohmp3 to something else (can't dig up the link, but it was from the voip-info wiki). My musiconhold.conf looks like this: ; ; Music on

newbie question: MOH problem
Just the sort of newbie question we all hate ;-) I'm a bit stuck with MOH. I think all is done right and I've read everyhing I can find, but whenever * tries to do MOH, all that happens is '-z: No such file or directory' Yes, I am on redHat. Yes I have installed real mpg123. Yes, it does seem to work from the command line. Any suggestions would be greta, I'm sire

distorted native music on hold
Hello, Using asterisk-1.2.1 I am trying to convert my music-on-hold files from .wav to alaw: % sox moh.wav -r 8000 -c 1 moh.al resample -ql The file sounds fine when listened with: % sox mox.al -t ossdsp /dev/dsp But when listened through asterisk with an alaw SIP phone the sound is clicky and too fast. Did I forget something in my conversion command? -- ldm@apartia.fr

MP3 streams for MOH: idea
[thread change, different topic] >is there a clean way to have MOH (Music on Hold) source >its audio from say a MS-ASF streem ??? > >got a radio station that wants to have their MOH come >from their ASF based netbroadcast I have run out of time for fooling around today, but I started to think about this one but have no time (or ability) to build this little glue program.

mpg123 removal
When I configured this server, I did not do the make mpg123 option. Months later, I read about it and did it, as the client was asking about MOH. About a week later the server crashed, which it never has before. I believe mpg123 have a memory leak. What's the best way to remove it, and is there an alternative that is stable? -- Chris Mason NetConcepts (264) 497-5670 Fax: (264) 497-8463

MusicOnHold spawns everlasting mpg123 processes
Hullo :) I'm using CVS-04/23/04-23 from the stable 1.0 branch on kernel 2.6 - since I have no Digium h/w, I've just managed to get the zaprtc module to compile and run, so I thought the best way to test it would be via MoH. The MP3Player application works great .. exten => 6901,1,Answer exten => 6901,2,MP3Player(http://127.0.0.1:85/ES/28) This will play callers BBC Radio 4 from
