Stable versions of Asterisk (Was: Re: Fair comparison (John Todd))
Hi,
It's really a problem for new Asterisk users. I am new to Asterisk and do
not know * history, which applications are stable, which are in
development, and who do what? It's really hard for new users to keep the
pace with CVS.
So can you recommend more stable Asterisk versions, which are suitable for
production environments?
My needs is simple: standard switch (Call transfer,

"Fixing the Caller-ID Problem", by John Todd for O'ReillyNet
This seems like a piece members of this list would find interesting...
===
There is growing concern over the interaction of VoIP systems
with the legacy PSTN, and the transmission of caller identity
data--most notably, Caller ID on the PSTN. It is not always
possible, or obvious how, to handle Caller ID data when moving
to or from VoIP and the PSTN networks. There are even business

Fair comparison
I was trying to do a little searching to see if there has even been a
comparison between Asterisk and VOCAL or any of the other OSS packages?
"Practical Voice Over IP using VOCAL" published by O'Reilly and
Associates, attempts to make a strong case about how scalable VOCAL. Of
course, considering that the book is written by the makers of VOCAL, it
tends to have a one sided slant.

Incidence estimated from Kaplan-Meier
Dear all,
I have a stat question that may not be related to R, but I would like to
have your advice.
I have just read a medical paper in which the authors report the 1-p (where
p is the cumulative survival probability from the Kaplan Meier curve) as
incidence of disease.
Specifically, the study followed ~12000 women on drug A and ~20000 women on
drug B for 12 months. During that period

cmprsk- another survival-depedent package causes R crash
Dear Prof Gray and everyone,
As our package developers discussed about incompatibility between Design and survival packages, I faced another problem with cmprsk- a survival dependent packacge.
The problem is exactly similar to what happened to the Design package that when I just started running cuminc function, R was suddenly closed.
These incidents suggest that maybe many other survival

Disable Samba Write Cache???
Dear List,
I have a MSDOS 6.22 PC with MS Client 3.0 using a samba share on a SUN 2.6
Solaris box. The DOS application is reading data from that share and
updating a log file also on that share. Reading or writing is not a problem
at all. The problem is the log file is updated every 4K. Normally it will
take one day for the DOS application to create 4K of logging data. That
becomes an issue as

Problems with graphics
Dear all,
I am a SAS user, who's trying R. I am a little bit lost for graphics.
What is the simplest way for plotting y as a function of x with one
symbol (line or dot) for each level of a class variable z (for SAS
langage= plot x*y=z). Can I add vertical bars for standard deviation
stored in a separate variable (say ystd). Finally, is it possible to
do all this with xyplot function

abline within data range
Dear R helpers,
I would like to have abline, for a lm model for
example, lying within data range. Do you know how to
get it?
Thank in advance
Nguyen D Nguyen
#CODE
x<- rnorm(200, 35,5)
y<- rnorm(200, 0.87,0.12)
plot(y~x, xlim=c(0,50), pch=17, bty="l")
abline(lm(y~x))
# I would like abline is between min(x) and max(x)
