SIP calls cause Segmentation Fault
I have an asterisk installation at a client, it's quite simple. Basically it's an asterisk downloaded from CVS about a week ago, with 3 Zaptel FXO cards (the digium ones) and 10 Grandstream Budgettone SIP phones ... Every now and then, especially when a call is ringing and not picked up immediately, Asterisk quits with a segmentation fault error. IT seems quite inexplicable, my dialplan

Facing problem of decoding FLAC
Hi FLAC developers, This is Saki, a student from Australian National University currently working on FLAC decoding with GPU acceleration. I am now facing a problem of locating the FLAC frame header. I am now trying to find a way to find the nearest frame header after a specific byte. I have already filtered the invalid data, check the CRC-8 at the end of file. But I am still finding some

Compiz starts, but no 3D effects
I just installed Compiz on Ubuntu Feisty (Gutsy does not work on my hardware as per the release notes) via the http://ppa.launchpad.net/amaranth/ubuntu repo, which is the repo suggested in the compiz-fusion website. The machine is a Dell Inspiron E1505 / 6400 with the horrible ATI X1400 graphics card and 1680x1050 monitor. I installed XGL and the proprietary ATI driver, a combination that worked

Plugin Interface for Decoations
Hi, this email is basically the result of a small discussion which made me think what the real end-goal of my work on Emerald-2 would be. Since Emerald has already a extensible system (Engines) I thought about giving the engines wider access, so that they are more like plugins. However the first thing needed is a nice plugin API. The base for that is the new settings backend of Emerald-2.

Emerald Theme Editor Windows Squished?
Listmates, On archlinux with emerald 0.8.2-1, the emerald theme editor windows are next to unusable. For some reason, the button edit 'Places' and 'Name' window areas are scrunched/squished way too small. Here is a screenshot: http://www.3111skyline.com/download/linux/compiz/emerald/editwindowlayoutsquished.jpg I have tried to resize them and either I don't know how, or

Can't Turn OFF compiz autostart since 0.7.4.x
Devs, compiz listmates: Why can't I turn off compiz autostart on openSuSE 10.3 i386? Compiz just decided to start automatically with KDE login ever since I upgraded to the first 0.7.4.x release from the openSuSE build service. I have tried to disable it by creating the file "disable-compiz" in ~/.config/compiz but compiz still starts at login. Even if I switch to kwin before

Working Clients for Linux?
All the clients that I'm aware of for IP telephony have drawbacks. Some won't work at all. KPHONE -- Kphone works best for me, but Kphone doesn't have a dialpad to dial tones during the middle of the call, so the demo that * comes with can't be run. Kphone (3.1, the latest) also has a habit of crashing if you do something even mildly stressful, such as hang up while Kphone is

White boarders on size 32 shadows. Intel platform only
Recently, I brought up a topic about white boarders being drawn instead of shadows in Gnome-Window-Decorator. A patch was made up by gandalfn to correct this by making 32 pixel shadows 33 pixels, however the patch was not committed because it was a workaround. This is a huge functional annoyance to us intel users and needs to be cured. There are two soultions I can think of: 1 Get in contact

compiz-fusion-kde-0.6.2-3.1 Window Decoration Crash?
Guys, SuSE 10.3, compiz-fusion-kde-0.6.2-3.1, fglrxG01-8.43.3-0.1, xorg 7.2. I just experienced a complete window decoration crash where all window decorations disappeared. kwin --replace followed by a emerald --replace cured the problem. This is the first crash since installing 6.2-3.1 about 12 hours ago. Is there anything helpful I can post that might identify the cause of the problem? --

OSD Mystery
I recently started using compiz-fusion. After spending months looking at an anemic little rectangular on-screen volume control when I use the volume buttons on my ubuntu thinkpad T60p, all of a sudden I noticed that I was getting a nice, big, robust rounded-corner display (somewhat mac-like). Now it's gone again. I really have no clue whether this came from compiz-fusion, emerald, a plugin,

Linux SIP/IX clients
DOes anyone have any good suggestions as to good SIP or IAX clients for linux? I have set up and am currently testing asterisk in a controlled environment. I have gnophone running on one of my boxes but the gnophone site has been down. So I can't seem to fing the IAX and Ix-devel rpms or the gsm and gsm-devel rpms. So that prevents me from setting up gnophone on another box. I am
