SER -> Asterisk voicemail on busy/unavailable. Anyone did it? (googling says NO)
Hello all! I googled lists.digium.com and ser mailing list, but did
not find any working configuration of asterisk used as voicemail for
SER. This is my config
        if (uri==myself) {
                if (method=="REGISTER") {
                        save("location");
                        log (1, "Registered\n");
                        break;
                };

Voicemail and FreePBX
I have a customer running Asterisk 1.4.22 and FreePBX 2.5.0 that is
having problems with Voicemail. They can listen to their voicemail but
on the weekend it stopped delivering messages via email. The only thing
I can notice is that the permissions for the files on teh voicemail
directories are created with no permissions at all. Here is the listing
on one of the mailboxes:

That's suspicious.
Let's exclude it is the client which causes the problem: Connect
directly to the IMAPS server on CLI.
openssl s_client -connect <server ip>:993
You hopefully see a greeting message

No recorded messages
I have installed my first Asterisk implementation using the Asterisk@home
ISO. I am using the SJPhone software. Using the setup page, I have been able
to configure two extensions. Whne I dial from one to the other, the other
does not answer even though it is registered. Watching the log in the CLI, I
can see that recorded messages are being played;:

GAMM : how to use a smoother for some levels of a variable, and a linear effect for other levels?
Hi,

I was reading the book on "Mixed Effects Models and Extensions in
Ecology with R" by Zuur et al.
In Section 6.2, an example is discussed where a gamm-model is fitted,
with a smoother for time, which differs for each value of ID (4
different bird species). In earlier versions of R, the following code
was used

BM2<-gamm(Birds~Rain+ID+

Different sings for correlations in OLS and TSA
Dear list,
I am trying to re-analyse something. I do have two time series, one
of which (ts.mar) might help explaining the other (ts.anr). In the
original analysis, no-one seems to have cared about the data being
time-series and they just did OLS. This yielded a strong positive
correlation.
I want to know if this correlation is still as strong when the
autocorrelations are taken into account.

[maybe ot] Special Characters in DB Fields
I have MySQL on a Linux (RH) server and Mac OSX. I did a mysqldump on the
Linux box and imported it into the database on the Mac. The following text
is in one of the fields:
Maui???s Westin Ka???anapali
This is supposed to read
Maui''s Westin Ka''anapali [note: straight quotes shown here are really
apostrophes]
In fact, it renders properly when served up from the Linux box
