pbx_spool and contexts
When I drop my file into the outgoing folder, the call is completed but
the 'Context' entry is not respected. Instead, it drops into the default
context. It does drop "properly" into the default context and function as
would be expected. I looked through the source but didn't see any reason
it would be completely ignoring the context.

7960 / MGCP
I've seen mention of it here and there... does anyone have mgcp working
with a 7960? I've gotten the phone to work in "basic phone mode", is that
all I'll get, or am I missing something?

Forward but wait for acknowledgement
I've been trying to find a way to connect incoming calls to my cell phone
when I'm not in the office. I would like to have asterisk call the cell
phone (or any other phone for that matter), and provide me the option to
connect to the call.
I figure I could park the call, use /var/spool/asterisk/outgoing/ to
generate a call to the cell phone and put it into a context somewhere.

Manager / Windows Apps / Line Appearances
It just dawned on me as I was playing with the manager interface - it
can't be very difficult at all to write an Win32 app that serves as a
"lamp field". Between 'Newchannel', 'Newstate', and 'Hangup' events, all
of the information is there.
I've heard several requests for line appearances, but mgcp and sccp
channels don't currently include support.

Directory App - excluding users...
Does anyone have any suggestions for excluding certain users from the
directory? Can I just leave the 'Name' field empty in voicemail.conf
Certain voicemail boxes shouldn't show up in the directory (company
president, etc). I assume this can be handled safely by just leaving out
the 'name' in voicemail.conf
To go a step further, it would be good to allow them to put the

Asterisk freezes, no manager traffic, console functions
I have asterisk running as a voicemail system off of our Merlin Legend
switch. We replaced our old Audix Voice Power (when the power supply fan
died and burned it up) with asterisk a week ago. Many thanks to those who
provided information about integrated VMI on the legend.
The Audix system would, after a mailbox was closed, wait a few seconds,
then use that line to dial the switch and update

Migration to Asterisk - Running off of Merlin Legend system
We currently have a Merlin Legend system. The voicemail is falling apart
(with the transition to a 10 digit timestamp on Sept. 8, 2001, the system
locked up and refused to take calls; the official solution is to change
the system time back to a year with a matching calendar). We are in the
process of preparing the network infrastructure to support a VoIP system
with Asterisk, but won't be

I think I have found the problem, now whats the solution?
I am trying to setup a Debian Sarge box as a file/print server for a
Win2k3 AD. The linux box can join the AD domain (using kinit
administrator@EBUYER.SHE then net ads join)
A wbinfo -u gives me "error retreive user list"
A wbinfo -g just list the groups in the "BUILTIN" object on the 2k3
server
A wbinfo --sequence gives me :
BUILTIN 1
EBUYER 1
Now, as far as I can tell

"Unable to find path from G729A to ULAW" on Sipphone.com
I seem to be having a problem with transcoding and/or agreeing on a
valid codec. I am running a new image pulled from CVS at 1:30 PM CST.
The issue occurs when I try to make a call to a toll-free number over
sipphone.com.
Here's what I see in the console:

Safecom SIP-300 Information?
While recently discussing SIP phones with a friend, I was pointed to a
generic phone being sold in the UK as the 'Ebuyer SIP VOIP PHONE with
PSTN'
It appears to be a safecom sip 300 IP phone.
The safecom site appears to be down. Does anyone know any information
about this phone or where to look? a google doesn't reveal much.

RE: the "cisco vs. Linux" thread
FYI this topic has been covered on the Zebra and Quagga lists
- hardware processors, memory, NICs, etc
- software OS (Linux, *BSD), drivers, etc
I''ve been running a couple of Linux routers for about 2 years now, I''m
using
them as core routers so I bought a couple of rackmount "server" boxes
with
redundant PSUs and h/w RAID (1) for hotswap disks.

FW: How to assign week numbers to a time-series (additional question)
I want to thank everyone who has provided me advice on how to solve this problem, it was all very helpful. However, I am still left with one issue remaining. All of the methods provided still require me to input the origin date, which to lead to correct week number assignment, must be the last Saturday prior to the survey start date of May 01 or May 01 if that date happens to be a Saturday. How to assign week numbers to a time-series
Hello everyone,
My progress has stalled on finding a way of creating a somewhat complicated variable to add to my existing dataframe and I am hoping one of you could help me out. The dataframe below contains only a fraction of the data of my complete dataframe, but all of the variables. What I want to do is add another variable named 'WEEK' to this dataframe that is assigned 1 for row 1
