So, I'm trying to get the Asterisk vxml (from i6net) working. Having no luck with it. My dial plan has: exten => _X.,1,Answer() exten => _X.,n,Wait(1) exten => _X.,n,Vxml(file:///tmp/menu.vxml) The /tmp/menu.vxml file has: <?xml version="1.0"?> <vxml version="1.0"> <form> <block><audio

.gsm files
Hi guys, Being a true Linux geek, I've never been too much into sounds or sound files other than a few .mp3 songs I got. My question is pretty straightforward and simple. I see that the music format of choice for asterisk is .gsm. What can I use to listen to files in .gsm format and what is the most effective way of recording files into .gsm format? The last part of the question is

Applications, dialplan not loading
I've built the latest CVS of asterisk -- not the zaptel or libpri directories, just the asterisk directory. asterisk installs successfully, but there are severe problems. I built this system in the past and ran it, but now building it again fails. This is the CVS as of this morning, 2003-06-13, but I had problems on 06-11/12 as well. After make; make install; make samples; make config, I

Today's Message from linphone; update on Khpone and SJPhone and X-Lite
Today's "frustrated programmer" award goes to Linphone, which has the following debug output: > (linphone:28655): LinphoneCore-WARNING **: this fucking remote sip phone did not answered properly to my sdp offer! I get this message when I connect to linphone using a softphone, or when I try to use linphone to connect to asterisk and listen to an announcement. I suspect that

Connections, but no voice paths except by console
I have a software-only PBX set up. I can register various softphones and they will call each other -- but I've never succeeded in getting any voice routed from any of the softphones. Only the console will transmit audio. I am writing to ask if I have missed some obvious step in configuring the system. Conditions: (1) Softphones running on the same machine as the PBX: Only Kphone seems

Asterisk ALSA module not working
Asterisk doesn't work with the latest CVS of ALSA (2003-06-24) . The module chan_alsa.so won't load even if the oss module, chan_oss.so, isn't loaded. There are no error messages. I've been chasing ALSA/Asterisk/client problems in one form or another for some time now. In previous versions of Asterisk and ALSA -- i.e., last week -- I could load either chan_oss.so or

VoiceXML support and integration
Hi All, Do any of you know what the status is for VoiceXML support in * ? Is it already existing, or is it planned for the future? If it's not in now, do you know on what type of scale the work would be to integrate VXML into * ? Thanks in advance

Text to Speech - Someone needs to do this
Why hasn't someone found 50 people who sound alike, put them in sound studios and record the 10,000 most commonly used words. You would all differnent forms of the 1,000 most words, i.e. leading, trailing, question etc. You can synthesize the other 0.05% when you run into them. With hard drives so big, processors so fast and EXT3 that can handle 30,000+ files in a single directory that

Extra parameters in SIP URIs
Hello, I've seen that Nuance SIP audio provider supports additional information (parameters and extra headers) in SIP URIs, using the format: sip:user:password@host:port;uri-param1;uri-param2?header1&header2 For example, sip:1234@myserver.com;extra_header=Uui?Uui=Hello Does Asterisk support this format? Is there a way to retrieve the value of these additional headers, and then decide

Will Asterisk do well in this application?
I have a customer looking for an automated way to provide his customers information. He found some windows software called Active Call Center - but I believe that he did the 40 day trial and it crashed his windows machine to much. So he wants something that can do a similar task running on linux. The Users expierience should go something like this One of his customers calls in the IVR asks

Speech Recognition
Does anyone know of a speech recognition module (like say yes or no, or numbers) I guess due to the complexity of speech recognition it might just be found in commercial applications or am I wrong like always? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Announcing free (GPL) VXML for Asterisk - Voiceglue
The first release of Voiceglue is now available. Voiceglue provides a VXML interpreter using Asterisk telephony and the OpenVXI VXML parsing suite. It is released under the GPL, and thus compatible with Asterisk and OpenVXI licensing. The first release is available at the project website: http://www.voiceglue.org There is also a mailing list for those interested in continued evolution of

Return Vars to Dial Plan from VXML()
I'm using i6net's vxml browser in Asterisk. I'm trying to work out how I can return the inputs from a menu or form back into the Asterisk dial plan. Is there a variable? It's not documented if it is. The exit tag apparently can be used to return a value (still trying to work out how to do that), but what about multiple values, such as with a form? Doug. --------------

OT: Online TTS engines?
The one I like: http://www.rhetorical.com/cgi-bin/demo.cgi is toast. I think they went broke or got aquired by someone. Also, is there a Festival voice that sounds as good as Rhetorical or the AT & T stuff? The default one is barely legible. Since Festival is a little brutal to configure, I'd like to get someone's recommendation then go through the pain of reconfiguring it only once.

Support for SIP REFER message
Hi to all, I am sending a SIP REFER message to Asterisk from a VoiceXML application using the <Transfer> element to do a Transfer through Asterisk. I need to know if Asterisk supports the full features of the SIP REFER message because if i set 'bridge=true' in the <transfer> element of the VoiceXML application to supervise the call, Asterisk sends a NOTIFY message with
