MSN messenger and *
I have read the guides on using Messenger to connect via SIP. I just cant get it to connect, even inside the LAN. I enter <local ip address>:5036, it trys to sign in, but times out and says Service Unavailable. Do I need anything extra in my configs for Messenger to work? Have * admins managed to get this to work? Any help welcome. Thanks

ts.plot and x axes customization

Hello A lot of windows application need access to an USB port. For Wine a library (or a patch) exists to manage that but it is not include in the "official" release. If we want to work with this USB port, we have to compile a personal version of Wine, but this is not really obvious for every body. Why this feature is not include in the release ? Do you plan an official release with

Migration
Hello all! I'm new to the list. I just upgraded 3 White Box Linux servers (database, application and internet) yesterday to Centos 3.4 using the info in http://centos.org/modules/smartfaq/faq.php?faqid=19. Very easy, and that was a very helpfull document! The decision was based in the speed of updates, really much faster in Centos! Is there a similar way to upgrade a Fedora Core 1 server

Dawn of War trouble and other questions
Hi: I'm a relative noob to Wine, and I'm having a little trouble getting Dawn of War (regular, plus Winter Assault) to run under Debian Lenny. When I try to install it, it always tries to install automatically to the c: drive, which I don't want to do because I don't have enough space (running on a laptop). I do, however, have a USB external drive, which I'd like it to load

RE Samba 3, recycle vfs and symbolic links
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Perhaps using a MS-DFS share would be more useful in this case? This would allow three real shares: \\server\accounting \\server\personal \\server\public which would appear as \\server\users\accounting \\server\users\personal \\server\users\public. See http://samba.org/~jht/HOWTO/Samba-HOWTO-Collection.pdf for more information on MS-DFS - -Tom

MSN Messenger in Wine?
It's marked "garbage" in the appdb, because the installer doesn't run without quite a bit of tweaking. But anyway ... I want to get MSN working in Wine. It's for my girlfriend's daughter, whose XP box just got trashed by a virus/rootkit (spread via MSN, of course). So we've saved her stuff and we're nuking and paving the box. I would like to use Ubuntu instead of

Re: Error: Migration not permitted with assigned PCIdevice
We use Digi Serial-over-IP devices to pass through serial ports to domUs. We''ve had success with the Digi One SP, PortServer TS, and Passport devices. I currently use the Passport 48 for IP access to all of my serial consoles (Ethernet switches, RAID arrays, FC switches, etc.) as well as to pass through a modem to my HylaFAX server, which is in a Xen domU. -Nick >>> Federico

Fractional component of a number
Dear all, I am happy to accept that > is.integer(1) [1] FALSE But I'm having difficulty with this one: > as.integer((2.53-2)*100) [1] 52 especially since: > as.integer((1.53-1)*100) [1] 53 Although I know that this is a precision issue since > x <- (2.53-2)*100 > x-53 [1] -2.131628e-14 And I can always use the round function to get what I want, but I just wonder if
