Fw: IAX Bandwidth Question
Subject: Re: [Asterisk-Users] IAX Bandwidth Question
Hi,
I have changed the codec to lpc10 (I see what they mean by Mr. Roboto!!)
and
the ping times generally dont go over 300ms.
It seems very odd that GSM saturates the link.
I would love to give g.723.1 a try but have no idea where to get the
proprietary codec... can anyone help?
Thanks

memory leak in index build?
I have a script (below) which attempts to make an index out of all the
man pages on my system. It takes a while, mostly because it runs man
over and over... but anyway, as time goes on the memory usage goes up
and up and never down. Eventually, it runs out of ram and just starts
thrashing up the swap space, pretty much grinding to a halt.
The workaround would seem to be to index documents in

DTMF Tones During Call
Hi,
I am receiving calls via a Netjet-S card on asterisk, and I notice that
whenever I am talkimng to someone, if their voice is loud enough, sometimes
asterisk generates a DTMF Tone as they speak. that is played to me. (Caller
doesn't hear it).
Any ideas how to stop this?

Moaning dog...
Here's one for you phone people....
An elderly lady phoned her telephone company to report that her telephone
failed to ring when her friends called - and that on the few occasions when it
did ring, her pet dog always moaned right before the phone rang.
The telephone repairman proceeded to the scene, curious to see this psychic
dog or senile elderly lady. He climbed a nearby telephone pole,

DTMF in the middle of a call
I found this old post using a Google search for DTMF tones heard during
an Asterisk call. The calling party does not hear them, only the called
party.
We are experiencing this sporadic DTMF "beep" followed by a momentary
silence on a random number of our calls. This happens on trunk to SIP
and SIP to SIP calls, so it's not PRI related.
Since this thread is dated 2003, and the

Ajax request for file downloads
I''m not sure if this has been discussed before, but is it possible to
get a file download as a response from Ajax.Request? I know you can
have response txt or xml, but how would I go about requesting a file
download?
Currently I''m requesting the download like this:

SMBD CPU climbs sky high when writing DPX files
Hello,
I am experiencing a strange problem when writing (capturing) DPX video
files to a Linux/Samba share. Basically, I'm seeing seeing a single smbd
process go from 9 percent CPU utilization to 100 percent CPU utilization
over the course of about 40 minutes. When smbd reaches 100 percent, the
capture stops (drops frames). I have tested this with three different
filesystem formats

Creating a scrolling effect with slider
I''m currently working on a method to implement a scroller for a div
using a slider. I need to do this as an alternative to making a stylish
flash scroller with content.
The main advantage of this method is to allow the ability to style the
sliding elements cross browser (and maybe as a future add on... the
ability to have a scroll.to for a scrolling div).
This is my first attempt at

(newby) IAX Trunk on low bandwidth connection
Hello everyone, this is my first post to the list, so hello again.
We're a small company in Romania and we're trying to set up a really small
version of "call center". That is, we want to get a few land-lines from our
telco in different countys and "bridge" all calls to our HQ, in order to
make it cheeper for our clients to call us.
Unfortunatelly there's no ISP

Hi,
I am using a Netjet-s ISDN Card, and am having some trouble dialling out

I get the following when diallingout:

Analog commands
Hi,
When I use the analog phone connected to Zap/1 how do I transfer & hold the
caller ?
When I hit the flash key, all that happens is the caller hears a beep
(sounds like DTMF).
But no stutter dial tone on the Zap/1 Port, just continuing conversation
with the caller.
What could be wrong here?
Cheers

hardware / bandwidth requirements
Hi there!!
Any body can drop me some information about the hardware and bandwidth
requirements to setup an icecast server to stream real time video
using OGG/Theora? I'll setup an production server, and need to
calculate an estimate number of maximum clients connections to the
server.
thanks in advance,

Dovecot 1.2.2
Hi,
I've just tried upgrading from 1.1.8 to 1.2.2. As soon as the new
version was started up the number of imap/pop3 processes began to
climb to 800+, where I normally have about 300 or so connections at
any given time. The load on the server also climbed to 150+.
I've reverted back to 1.1.18, which is running just fine, but is there
anything I can do to help trace what was causing the

[LLVMdev] BackedgeTakenCount calculation for fortran loops and DragonEgg gfortran-4.6
Hello, I'm finding problems with BackEdgeTaken count calculation in
even simple fortran loops with gfortran-4.6 + DragonEgg 3.0.
Even for simple double loops like this one:

do j=1,100
do i=1,100
k(i,j) = i
enddo
enddo

lmer: Estimated variance-covariance is singular, false convergence
Dear R Community!
We analyse the impact of climbing activity on cliff vegetation. During
our fieldwork, we recorded 90 Transects in 3 climbing sites. The aim is
to see, if the plant cover (response: Cover) is influenced only by
crevice availability (predictor: Cracs), or, additional, by the distance
to the climbing route (predictor: Distance). Six plots are nested within
