However, someone could come up and plug a keyboard in it and mouse and be logged in as that user (not root). Is there a way to disable the mouse and keyboard so only remote ssh connections will control the PC if changes need to be made. This would also

Loosing mouse pointer on centos 4.1
I have a dell inspiron 8200 laptop . Install went fine. After booting and using my laptop for a while my mouse pointer just disappears. Any ideas? Any way to restart my mouse pointer? I tried doing CTL-ALT+F1 and ALT_F7 thinking that would reinitialize the mouse but no. Only thing that works is reboot. THanks, Jerry

Re: Change/Hide Mouse cursor in Wine app
Is there a way to change the default mouse pointer theme in a wine app ? No, Wine always uses it's own pointer icon(s). The code that deals with user set cursors is not implemented (SPI_SETCURSORS). aleroot wrote: Is there a way to hide the mouse cursor in a wine app ? Not by the user. Applications have to do it.

Mouse cursor rotated on all screens when rotating a single screen.
I have two monitors, one landscape and the other portrait. When I rotate the portrait monitor using xrandr (or the xorg.conf option) the mouse cursor on the landscape monitor is also rotated and the "click point" is no longer below the cursor (this makes the mouse practically unusable). The cursor is correct on the rotated monitor. Setting NoAccel "False" and HWCursor

All, I have been looking at zenity to pop up messages on the X screen. Is there another alternative to zenity that I have not found? I need to be able to completely remove the OK button, I cannot find a way in zenity to do this. also It would be nice to have a --timeout 5 option on the command line also. Any suggestions? Jerry

compaq r4000 32 bit and 64 bit install
Gents, I first installed the 32 bit version (as you might have read) of centos 4.2, after downloading x86_64 the install process/progress is about the same. going VERY slow... The screen for formatting the partitions took a LONG time (3 partitions 10 GIG, 2 GIG swap and 50 GIG). While on that screen and moving the mouse it lagged big time and could not keep up. Anyway just reporting that so far

Switching screen resolution on the fly
Is there any way other than CTL ALT + and CTL ALT - to set and or change the resolution of the X server when I want to. Is there a way to so take me to "1920x1080" mode and then later take me to "1366x768" mode. With xvidtune I see the -next and -prev options but I was hoping for jumping to specific modes. I so realize I can also edit out unwanted modes in the xorg.conf but
