Cisco CallManager Image for 7940/7960
Does anyone have the .bin file(s) to convert a Cisco 7940/7960 back to the CallManager image? I want to start playing around with the chan_skinny addition, but it seems the .exe's from cisco want to open a connection to a SQL server or CallManager (which I don't have).

Skinny and CISCO 7905G
Hello, I tried to configure a cisco 7905 IP phone using the skinny channel but I had not much luck. The relevant portion of skinny.conf is: [cisco1] device=SEP000F3487F8E3 callerid="Alex" <123-456-789> mailbox=500 callwaiting=1 transfer=1 context=default threewaycalling=1 line => 500 ; Dial(Skinny/500@cisco1) I set up the tftp server, and prepared the following

Asterisk Capabilities
I am new to Asterisk and currently work mainly with Cisco Callmanager. With Callmanager I can setup partitions and call search spaces to determine where a given phone can and can't dial. Does Asterisk offer this type of functionality, and if so how? Blake Parker -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

SIP kpml DTMF support in *
Hi, I'm trying to connect Asterisk 1.4 and Cisco CallManager 5 using SIP Trunk without MTP (media termination point). Howerver, Cisco 79xx phones do not support RFC2833, they always notify CCM5 via SKINNY channel no matter where they send RTP to. For non-MTP trunk there's Out-of-band DTMF support in CCM5 called "kpml". I wonder if Asterisk can support it. I found an

For the Australian Asterisk users
I've noticed that a few people here are from Australia. I'm wondering where you all get your hardware from. I'll probably order some of the X100P cards from Digium soon (and possibly some FXO cards), but for other things such as ATAs, etc. However - these obviously aren't ACA compliant. Does anybody know of compatible hardware (for POTS lines) that is ACA compliant? The cheapest

CISCO 7960G FIRMWARE
Hi everybody, I will receive my CISCO 7960G tomorrow. I've ordered it as a "global spare" without any callmanager licence. Now I don't know if I can get firmware-updates so could please someone send me the SIP-firmware? Is the default firmware the "skinny" one? Wich would be better to use with asterisk? Thank you very much

RE: current version
To be clear I meant using Chan)_h323 with Call Manager where CM is configured with * as a H.323 gateway, not client. CM supports H.323 to direct calls through gateways, and in fact until recently that is all they supported. They now also have MGCP, but only to their IOS platforms, and SIP is coming soon. There are NO sccp-based gateways, from Cisco anyways. Dan -----Original Message-----

Cisco 7960g
I'm trying to set-up Asterisk server and I would like to buy 2 SIP phones. Has anybody tried Cisco 7960G? Or 7940? What audio compressions can I use with this phone and Asterisk? Reason why I'm asking is because Cisco supports G.711 and G.729a audio compression (probobaly some tohers but they are not listed on data sheet) and on Asterisk features i found that it supports G.729 but need

Kirk SIP-DECT gateway
Hi, I just got some interesting information from Kirk Telecom (www.kirktelecom.com). This company has been in the business of providing DECT solutions (IP gateway, base stations, repeaters and handsets) either to be used with Cisco CallManager (SCCP protocol) or with the Innovaphone IP PBX system (H.323). Two important elements: 1. It seems they foresee a SIP version of their product in Q1

chan-sccp problem, phone is not registering
Hi list! I'm trying to configure the Kirk IP 600 wireless (DECT) system. The wireless phones are regular DECT phones, the Kirk IP 600 is doing the voip part by registering/gatewaying the phones to a callmanager server. The phones do not work and I think the problem is that they do not register at asterisk but I'm not sure because I don't understand a thing of the sccp/skinny

Cisco 7912 speed dials
Hi ! We have Cisco 7912 phones, and the doc says that I can "create up to four speed dial buttons on my phone using the Cisco CallManager". Does anyone knows which protocol is used to configure speed dials (Is it documented somewhere) ? Did someone tried to reverse engineer the protocol ? It would be cool, not having to pay $15000 just for configuring speed dials on those phones ;-D

Can Asterisk "proxy" a SIP phone to make it look like a Cisco skinny softphone?
Hi there We have a Cisco VOIP environment here, with hard and softphones. I have a softphone account/etc, but I'm a Linux user and (as far as I'm aware) there is no Cisco softphone for Linux. However I can run Asterisk. So I was wondering if there is a way to "convert" a SIP phone transaction into a SKINNY transaction so that the Cisco environment thinks it is a Cisco

Cisco Phones
For those of you running Cisco phones, did you start out with a Cisco CallManager and move to Asterisk? And if you did switch do you find that you or your users are missing features they once had? How have you handle the issue? Thanks Roy Anciso Director of Technology Manistee Intermediate School District 1710 Merkey Road Manistee, MI 49660 Ph: 231-723-4264 Fx: 231-723-1690 roy at
