soft phones -- voice quality tuning
I've got the XTEN Lite soft phone mostly working with * but it's
dropping out like a very bad cell phone call.
The GSM codec is worst (unusable), G711u and G711a are best but
not good enough to use.
I don't think it's a lack of bandwidth.
What tuning options or approaches should I be investigating to
make this work.
Also, what's the best soft phone(s) for Windows XP?

recent 's' and 'n' priorities and lables
Hi all,
With the recent 's' and 'n' priorities, as well as the advantage of
labels, dialplan management has become *much* simpler IMHO.
However, I have one suggestion for possible improvement. In any of the
Goto[If|IfTime] statements, the ability to do 's' + a number or label +
a number would be _nice_.
Example extensions.conf:
exten => 1,1,NoOp(Start)

Salvage or undelete files of damaged ext2/ext3 file systems
Hi!
I have made some extensions to debugfs to undelete or recover files
from a damaged ext3 file system.
Salvage or undelete files of damaged ext2/ext3 file systems
debugfs salvage command can be used to salvage files from a damaged ext3
or ext2 file system. The code is alpha, so use at your own risk.
the usage is:

[RFC] Allowing debug intrinsics to reference multiple SSA Values
What would it look like without this extension? If we modeled it as if all the register values were already on the stack (an extension of the current way where the singular value is modeled as being already on the stack, if I understand it correctly?)?
If it's decided that the best approach is to introduce something like DW_OP_LLVM_register - might be worth migrating to that first (basically

Grandstream BudgeTone 102 initial experiences
Just to toss in my very limited experiences with the Grandstream phone--
I haven't tested it enough to really know nor is my Asterisk
config set up enough to fully try all the features.
Mostly, it just works. It was very easy to configure and
get running. I've been toting it around to clients as a
show and tell exhibit and it has helped get people excited
about the possibilities.

samba vfs recycle problem
Hello,
VERSIONS tried: 3.0.9 and 3.0.10
Function: Domain Controller
Summary: Using the recycle vfs module, files deleted are not "touched"
Details:
I've set up VFS recycle so that when a user deletes a file it gets moved
to the .salvage directory. recycle:touch = yes is set, but the moved
(deleted) file still contains the original time stamp when doing an "ls
-al".

/var full issue: FreeBSD 5.4, Samba 3
I encountered something a little strange today.
Previously I had enabled samba logging and forgot to disable it. Unsurprisingly my /var partition maxed out. To correct this, I disabled the logging and deleted the (approx 240 MB) samba log file. Strangely I still had a full /var partition. Running df gave me:

[RFC] Allowing debug intrinsics to reference multiple SSA Values
Currently, the debug intrinsic functions each have 3 arguments: an SSA value representing either the address or Value of a local variable, a DILocalVariable, and a complex expression. If the SSA value is an Instruction, and that Instruction is at some point deleted, we attempt to salvage the SSA value by recreating the instruction within the complex expression. If the instruction cannot be

Looking for a patch that was post May 1 2004
Hello group
I'm working on getting festival installed and working on my FC1. I ran
into a problem and after searching Google I found this message talking
about a patch for Speech Tools and Festival
http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-users/2004-May/045134.html
The above site does not have the files.
Does anyone in the group have this patch?

postmaster alias
I have dovecot configured to use an LDAP database for mail delivery with
dovecot-lda. All of of my user accounts and aliases work fine except for
postmaster@ which consistantly bounces. I have compared the entry for
postmaster with another working alias and see no difference. When I send
mail to postmaster I get the following in the logs:

Analysis of poorly replicated array data
Greetings,
I have "inherited" a cDNA macroarray dataset that is structured as follows.
Three different stressors were tested. For each stressor, there are two
treatments (control and stressed). For each treatment, two biological
replicates exist, and these are paired (i.e., there is a stressed array for
colony A and a control array from this same colony). For one of these
samples,

Converting Courier mailboxes to Dovecot
Hi,
I have around 100 mailboxes (maildirs) to convert from Courier IMAP
(4.1.3) to Dovecot.
(From a recent backup) I've tested a few mailboxes on Dovecot 1.0.0, and
while the client doesn't notice any difference (at least in Thunderbird)
I'm hoping to get rid of the old Courier folders and convert any useful
information they may have into Dovecot.
I've tried Timo's

Solaris HDD crash, Restore?
First time user of Solaris and ZFS ....
I have Solaris 10 installed on the primary IDE drive of my motherboard. I also have a 4 disc RAIDZ setup on my sata connections. I setup up a successful 1.5TB ZFS server with all discs operational.
Well ... I was trying out something new and I borked my Solaris install HDD; the main problem is that I also had my RAIDZ zpool operational. I don''t
