fetchmail SSL protoco; issue
I am using fetchmail to collect mail from some secondary mail accounts,
among which is hotmail.
So far I have used hotwayd to fetch the mail from hotmail using
httpmail. Hotmail now supports pop3 access, so I decided to change
fetchnail to fetch the mail directly over pop3.
This works, but whatever I try, I get an error message when I run
fetchmail:
Invalid SSL protocol 'SSLv23'

Adjusting Mime types for files with extensions .R or .Rout
I'm not sure if this is a Debian/Ubuntu question related to R or a
Gmail question related to R so I thought I would start with this
mailing list.
I often wish to email R scripts and the result of a R CMD BATCH run of
the script. I wish them to be enclosures of mime type text/plain so
they are easier to handle and so they can be included in the archives
of mailing lists. I use the web

Monitor email for office365.com with fetchmail
I am trying to use fetchmail to monitor box in office365.com.
Its not working.
Is there a "better" way to monitor and inbox ?
I have verified all the ports are open, using 993, using ssl, using
sslproto SSL3 etc..
Anyone done this ? Got it working.
I basically have:
machine outlook.office365.com

password mypassword

I know they should get a root certificate,

Fetchmail
Hi all,
Anyone know how to specify for fetchmail in .netrc the "folder" to read ?
If tried folder XYZ
and it says unknown token folder.
Man page says that should work.

Looking for a guide to collect all e-mail from the ISP mail server
Hi all:
I am evaluating mail server solutions for a small business. The trouble is, I am only a part-time admin and a newbie to mail servers.
Most guides I have seen are rather unrealistic: they encourage you to expose your e-mail server to the Internet, and hope that you have the resources
to keep it patched up.
I would rather have an internal mail server that collects e-mails from a standard

cluster-lite
I am about to write a "cluster-lite" R solution for myself. I wanted to
know whether it already exists. If not, I will probably write up how I do
this, and I will make the code available.
Background: we have various linux and OSX systems, which are networked, but
not set up as a cluster. I have no one here to set up a cluster, so I need
a "hack" that facilitates parallel

Question about dovecot replication
Hi,
last week I installed 2 servers with two dovecot nodes and replication in active/active mode located in different datacenters.
Based on the howto from wiki "http://wiki2.dovecot.org/Replication" it works great.
According to the wiki it is recomended to run "doveadm purge" on both systems continously, because "doveadm purge" will not be replicated by the

Openssh 2.9.x + Pam_Linux
I noticed a bit of odd behavior with openssh + pam_linux a while back.
I do not know if anyone else has seen this since there are a few hoops
that have to be jumped through.
Background:
RedHat 6.2 (heavily customized) running on intel box.
Running pam-0.72-20.6.x + Openssh-2.9.9p2-1 (both redhat)
Problem:

Stuck here - help please
Thank you for the reply.
I have done the sync manually with "doveadm sync" command. But, I have not
configured the replication yet.
I am looking at the below webpage for the replication.
https://wiki.dovecot.org/Replication
I am using the dovecot version "2.2.36". I am confused with what needs to
be done after reading that page.
1. They are talking about v2.3.1 and v2.2+.

maildrop and multi-dbox
Hi there,
I'm using Dovecot 2.0.9-1 under Arch Linux.
Currently, I have Maildir configured, and I move all my emails into
dovecot by using this sequence:
1) cron starts fetchmail periodically under user manfred to collect my
mails from various email accounts.
2) In ~/.fetchmailrc I have configured /usr/bin/maildrop as MDA.
3) In ~/.mailfilter (used by maildrop) I have extensive filtering in

workgroups not recognized in virtual server conf files
Hi,
The documentation I've read indicates that I should be able to get Samba to
honor the value of the 'workgroup' variable as set from within an included
virtual server configuration file.
Given the configuration files below, if I comment out the
"workgroup = testwg"
line from the main configuration file (smb.conf), then a query of
the Samba server (with

dovecot pop3s delivers new messages as old (unread) messages ...
I just set up dovecot on fedora core 3 with only pop3s protocol
enabled. On my client machine, I use fetchmail to get the mail and
then go through procmail and eventually ready by mutt.
Everything seems to work fine, except that all new emails are marked
old unread emails (i.e., marked with 'O' flag instead of 'N'). This
is annoying because some open source lists are so large
