mysql based adressbook with agi and web interface ?
Hi, I'm looking for adressbook that could easily integrate into Asterisk, so it should: - have agi script to search for caller id name - have fields for notes on previous contacts (for CRM spawning of FOP) - have web interface to edit entries easily ... Any advice, pointers ? What is your favourite address book to use with Asterisk ? Regards, Rob.

horde sync status ?
Hello all, I had a quick look at the horde site and noticed that horde is being advertised as, let's say, "smartphone friendly". Does anyone know if the newest horde version can "talk" to? smart phones in regards to e-mails ? In other words, can a user owning a smartphone get his/her e-mails on it apart from the webpage ? Thank you, spyros ? ---- "I merely

Re: [Serusers] softphones
Hi I tried Xten, its very good, because it can stay in the taskbar (next to the clock) and start when windows starts, and is allways ready to receive calls. Maybe it s the best way to introduce VoIP to my company workers.... But theres a feature that s missing (or I couldnt find), there s no way to connect this softphone with the adress book. I think this feature is very important, because

Advantages of using :single_index ?
Hi all, Google returns two results for this: http://www.google.ca/search?q=acts_as_ferret+shared_index+option&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:fr:official&client=firefox-a Both point to the ChangeLog, so I don''t really know if anybody used a shared index. From the RDoc, I know the option makes AAF "use a Ferret index that is shared by all classes..."

Status of fragment support, advantages of having fewer indoes
Hi, There wasn't much information regarding fragment support of ext2/3 since 2003 [1], Andreas stating that there were problems with the xattr implementation. Has this changed in the meanwhile? My second question is regarding the bytes-per-inode ratio: What benefits would I gain from having fewer inodes? I reckon it's only diskspace (if so, how much?). best regards, Michael Renner [1]

wine advantages over mingw
What are the advantages of using winegcc over the mingw cross compiler? Also, what are the differences in the header files / libs supplied with each ? I have an app (http://www.autohotkey.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=46546) cross compiling with mingw using codeblocks, and I have it working under winelib side by side native linux code. I wanted to translate it so it would compile with winegcc so

Advantages of compiling from source?
I'm just wondering what the advantages are if you're compiling from source. Is there any (noticeable) performance difference if I do so? Is it recommended I do this? I have a somewhat restricted system (900 Mhz CPU, 512 MB RAM) so it'd be nice if Wine could run a bit faster (though the recent memory management optimizations in Wine certainly seemed to help already).

dbox verses maildir - advantages/disadvantages
I am migrating our mail server from Courier-IMAP to Dovecot. We currently use maildir storage format. What are the advantages and disadvantages of Dovecot's dbox format over maildir? Does anyone have any performance benchmarks for both? What do people use to test performance? We are running on a Mac OS X box (10.5.7) using Postfix 2.6. Thanks, James.

Roaming Profiles: Advantages and disadvantages?
Hello everyone. I wanted to get some feedback and opinions from people regarding the use of Roaming profiles. originally, I was planning on using roaming profiles. However, I am starting to wonder if this is such a good idea. The reason is that, if I implement roaming profiles, there is a good chance that there will be network congestion as well as a lot of stress on the server. (50 users so

Advantages of HVM vs. paravirtualization in a Linux-only enviroment?
Newbie here. My hardware supports HVM (full virtualization), but I only need to run Linux on it. I initially tried to create a HVM domU, but couldn''t get pciback to work with a telephony card I need for use with Asterisk. However everything seems to be working fine under a paravirtualized guest as long as I use permissive mode on the card. (Knock on wood-I''ve had some weird

Advantages of using SQLite for data import in comparison to csv files
Hello everybody out there using R, I'm using R for the analysis of biological data and write the results down using LaTeX, both on a notebook with linux installed. I've already tried two options for the import of my data: 1. Import from a SQLite database 2. Import from individual csv files edited with sed, awk and sort. Both methods actually work very well, since I don't need advanced

Advantages to using CUPS printing on a PDC
Hi, I'd like to know the advantages out there in the field, using CUPS to print from the PDC. To me it sounds like just adding another single point of failure in the network, perhaps I am being blinded by windows printing issues to see the advantage in running all the prints via a PDC box? How out there has implemented it and has it helped? Kind Regards, Michael da Silva Pereira

There are two ways we could run the appliance: either

(off topic) article on advantages/disadvantages of types of SS?
Hello. Please excuse this off-topic request, but I know that the question has been debated in summary form on this list a number of times. I would find a paper that lays out the advantages and disadvantages of using different types of SS in the context of unbalanced data in ANOVA, regression and ANCOVA, especially including the use of different types of contrasts and the meaning of the

Performance advantages of spool with 2x raidz2 vdev"s vs. Single vdev
Hi guys, I am about to reshape my data spool and am wondering what performance diff. I can expect from the new config. Vs. The old. The old config. Is a pool of a single vdev of 8 disks raidz2. The new pool config is 2vdev''s of 7 disk raidz2 in a single pool. I understand it should be better with higher io throughput....and better read/write rates...but interested to hear the science

Wi-SIP vs. SIP-DECT
Anybody care to muse on Wi-SIP vs. SIP-DECT? My limited research indicates that none of the WiSip phones will ever be able to match the performance of DECT phones. Maybe I'm wrong but a Wi-SIP phone seems like a DIESEL sports car. There is nothing wrong with the technology, but it seems like a shoe-horned fit into the requirements of a wireless endpoint. DECT uses a wireless radio layer
