Veritas Backup Exec 8.6 & Samba: Take Two!
Hi, gang, There have been numerous postings, scattered across various Internet forums (including this one), about problems encountered using Veritas Backup Exec 8.6 and higher with Samba-sourced shares from *nix servers. In my particular case, I have a Windows NT Server 4.0-based backup system, which is supposed to be able to back up the other Windows systems on the LAN, plus several SPARC boxes

AW: Re: samba-3.0.10-1.4E (RHEL4); Invalid key XXX given to dptr_close
Fabian, Fast explains. On the NT server work BrightStore with version r9, more highly does not go because of NT. On the REHL4 side works (worked) BrightStore Linux Client r11.5. Smaller version does not work goes because of RHEL4. BrightStore servers r9 and Linux Client r11.5 are not compatible unfortunately. I must now decide everything with the version Share to work to get. Or the operating

Nessus test issues with open shares
Hi, My name is Joseph Villa, I'm new to the message boards and I'm also new to Samba. I just got an e-mail back on our Nessus scans.. Here are the 2 that are relivant.. 1.) The remote host has accessible LOGS$ share. ScriptLogic creates this share to store the logs, but does not properly set the permissions on it. As a result, anyone can use it to read the remote logs. Building and packaging httpd
Hi, Am rebuilding httpd from scratch to enable http2 and minimize extra modules on Cent Os 8. Am having trouble understanding the spec file [0] and systemd initialization [1][2][3] (these are very similar to those extracted from [4]). Why are 3 scripts needed to start the service and why is a pid setting not needed as used in the httpd.service file at [5]? Benson [0]

using conf.d files to override options in httpd.conf
Like many of you, I like to avoid modifying /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf as much as possible. Instead, modifying or adding files in /etc/httpd/conf.d However, because /var/www/html is declared within the main httpd.conf and certain directives are set along with "AllowOverride None" (thus forbidding use of .htaccess), it seems like the only way to override any of these options is to

httpd with SNI
Hi! I am currently publishing some web services on a Centos 5.3 server on my office using the included apache httpd. They are available from the Internet, and they require validation (username/password). I would like to publish them all under https, so the passwords won't travel unencrypted, but then all my sites use the same certificate on apache httpd. The solution to this is using an

OCFS and backups to tape
Hi, we have installed ocfs2 on Rhat 4. It is being used as a general clustered file system. There are no oracle binaries or datafiles on the ocfs volume. So no need for RMAN or oarcle agents etc etc. The customer would like to backup the volume using arcserve. However CA are saying that they cannot backup from an ocfs volume. Has anyone out there got any words of wisdom about backing up

Hi All, Currently my system is using httpd 2.2.27. As there were many Vulnerability fixes released under 2.2.29, I would like to upgrade the Apache httpd. My system is having CentOS 6.5. I checked on CentOS Repos using yum but could not find the latest httpd rpm from there. So I am building the httpd rpm from the source tar ball downloaded from apache site. I am able to build the rpm successfully

Apache httpd-2.2.15 updates
Hello, I am working on a CentOS Linux 2.6.32-71.el6.x86_64 system. I noticed that the system came with httpd-2.2.15-6 installed. After I run 'yum update' I get httpd-2.2.15-9. I did some research on the Internet, but can't find the following information: are most of the security fixes that appear in httpd-2.2.21 applied to the update on httpd-2.2.15-9? There was a security fix just
