Anyone have any experience/knowledge on the Supermicro P4SGA motherboard? Supermicro's tech support suggested that specific MB as a low latency board with a reasonable pci bus. Expect to use this with the Digium TDM fxo card. Comments?

Hello Does anyone know of any possible concerns in moving a "production" CentOS 4 install from one machine to another where the "only" difference is that the processor changes from a 1.8 Intel P4 "without" Hyper-Threading to a 3.0 Intel P4 "with" Hyper-Threading ? Hi, I installed centos 4 on a P4, configured it (and it booted fine here) then sent it to the DC to be put in a P3 but it won't boot, displays GRUB and halts. The DC guys tried grub-install in rescue mode but still the same. Any clues? Is there some difference between P3 and P4? thanks tom

Hi all! I'm trying to install a suse-linux via network on a machine with a asus p4te-mainboard (BIOS-rev 1005). There is a known problem with some screwed up bios call that locks up the fdc which got "worked around" in recent kernel versions. I'm depending on the floppy because there is a file on it which is read during installation.
