Hardware requirements
I don't seem to be able to find the necessary hardware
specs for an Asterisk server. What I have in mind is a
dedicated server to serve 50 or so people. All users
will use SIP phones and there will be an ISDN gateway
for outgoing/incoming calls. Do you have any
suggestions about the server specs (CPU, RAM, HD,
etc)?
Also, has anyone used Epigi Quadro ISDN gateway with
Asterisk? If so, what is

routing: requiring requirements for non-existent params?
With this route:
map.connect ''items/:subject/:id'',

Is it possible to have it match these URLs:

Asterisk scalability?
Hi
I plan to setup an asterisk box to function as a SIP gateway forwarding
lots of calls to/from a backend of several other asterisk boxes, each
with a TE410 card for PSTN connectivity. It will only gateway the
calls into the PSTN gateways. No transcoding is planned - only plain
ALAW. How many concurrent calls would you think this can handle? I'm
asked to plan a system that can handle

MGCP - Repost
I did not get any answers to my earlier posting. I hope I have better luck this
time- The question: Is it possible to use Asterisk as media gateway controller?
I know * supports MGCP, but does that also imply that I can use * to control any
third party media gateway (such as one providing media conversion from E1 to
AAL2). - DL

Hardware Requirements for qdisc htb/sfq
I am planning to replace our cisco 7200 core router with Linux. We
currently serve around 1500 (3/4 DSL - different router) customers with
probably half of them being concurrent at any given time.
We have a fiber network and customers currently aren''t managed as far as
how much bandwidth they can use at anytime. Therefore I have constructed
a working tc qdisc Linux router as a test. It

Asterisk Memory Requirements
I have asterisk installed on a Dell 2850 dual-Xeon 3.0Ghz box with 2GB
of memory. This is serving about 75 sip clients, Polycom500's and
600's. We are running into problems with the memory. Asterisk, right
now, is using about 1.8GB of system memory. I am using Asterisk 1.0.7,
Zaptel 1.0.7 with Digiums TE410 1xT1 RBS and 1xT1 PRI, Libpri 1.0.7 on
Fedora Core 3. My question; is this

centos 4 and hardware compatibility
Is centos 4 compatible with gateway 7400 server. We have some spare
gateway 7400 servers with 2 intel Pentium iii (FC-PGA Socket 370)
processors operating at 667 mhz. Are there any compatibility issues?
Fully supported?

Asterisk Hardware Requirements for a 50-100 Seat Call Center
I am looking for estimated hardware requirements for running a 50 to 100
seat call center off of a single Asterisk server.
The Asterisk server will have one quad T1 card installed (probably a
Digium TE410P) with two T1s connected. The OS is Debian GNU/Linux
(woody) with a custom 2.4.xx kernel installed. It is preferable for the
server to have a single CPU and no shared IRQs.
I would really

RE: how to manage Digium TDM04B outgoing calls
Then if let say instead of buying TDM400P cards I get this : Clipcomm
CG-410 Quad FXO Gateway
is it any good? They also sell Quad FXS Gateway.
Clipcomm seems to sell the cheapest Quad FXO/FXS Gateways arround so I'm
wondering if it's working fine with asterisk.
I found this one too but at a lot higher price : AudioCodes MP108 8-Port
FXO Analog Gateway (SIP)
I need to buy a

Asterisk and Hardware Requirements
Hello,
I would like to put 1 asterisk box in Country A and 1 asterisk box in Country B.
Let's assume :
- Asterisk box in country A = GWA
- Asterisk box in country B = GWB
- Calling party number (located in country A) = CgPNA
- Called party number (located in country B) = CdPNB
- Second Called party number (located in country B) = sCdPNB
- PSTN in country A = PSTNA
- PSTN in country B = PSTNB

hardware / bandwidth requirements
Hi there!!
Any body can drop me some information about the hardware and bandwidth
requirements to setup an icecast server to stream real time video
using OGG/Theora? I'll setup an production server, and need to
calculate an estimate number of maximum clients connections to the
server.
thanks in advance,

Speex hardware requirements?
Hi evrybody,
I wonder witch hardware requirements it is for speex decoding
(especially 16kHz mono sound).
Could it be possible to use the Gameboy advance hardware if you added a
FPU? or dose it need to be more powerfull?

Opteron vs Xeon?
Hi
I'm setting up a SIP gateway, serving quite a few potential users, and
I wonder if I should purchase a Opteron or Xeon based system. Xeon has
it's HT, but is it worth it? Has anyone tested Opteron on asterisk?
Does it work well?
There'll be no transcoding in this system - G.711A all way through

Hardware Requirements for 1M minutes
I'm doing an install for a client with the following requirements.
- 1 Million minutes of outbound calling
- Calls come in to asterisk via SIP/IAX and terminated to third party
provider via SIP
- Codec usage will be about 70% g711 & 30% g729 (there should be no transcoding)
- 100% IP setup with no voice cards in the box
They have a box on hand with a single 3.2ghz P4 w/Hyper-threading,

Minimum hardware requirements for 10 concurrent calls?
Hello,
I'm considering an Asterisk box for up to 10-15 concurrent calls.
Incoming PSTN/ISDN/IAX2, outgoing PSTN/ISDN/IAX2.
Could someone roughly suggest the minimal hardware requirements for this kind of
setup?
Trying to come up with the cheapest solution.
Thank you.

smbd fails to start after upgrade to version 4.11.6
Roy,
Im still wondering what your problem might be/where its coming from.
But we know it's interface/network related, only thing is Samba should not coredump.
So i had a good look below to see where im missing what.
And i dont see much to work with.
I have 2 possible options where, where a problem might be.
1) samba start before network is online.
A possible workaround is add in all

Absolutely minimal Asterisk PSTN gateway
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hello together,
I am setting up a communication server which should also act a
very-low-load PSTN gateway. I am usiing a AMD K6 200 running from a 500
MB usb memory stick. What is the ABSOLUTE minimum space requirements for
~ running asterisk to work as gateway between isdn and lan? 50MB or 1
GB?(I would compile, configure, etc. on a separate machine

Hardware requirements question
I've read through the Wiki, I know its hard to nail down hardware
requirements because it really depends on what you are going to do. I'm
very new to Asterisk, haven't even read my Asterisk for Dummies book yet
(its in the mail).
Can you tell me if this sounds sane? We are planning on using a Dell
933Mhz dual CPU server, with 1GB of ram for our Trixbox setup. We will
have 7-10
