How could I install the asterisk with embede d system?
Just change the install prefix directory in asterisk makefile to something
like /usr/local/asterisk, and then you will see all the files needed for
asterisk to run.

A200 card problem
Hi -
I just got an A200 card with 1 FXO and 1 FXS module. Sadly, I can't
make it work- currently, asterisk will not startup because of a bad
module. Below are some log files/config files. If anyone has any
suggestions, I'd appreciate it.
I used Trixbox 2.0 and followed instructions on (http://
sangoma.editme.com/wanpipe-linux-asterisk-atHome) - no problems

Outline For Asterisk Book - Please Review & Comment
Asterisk Users
In an attempt to help Asterisk move forward, a number of us have decided
to create a book. It would initially be released as an "ebook" that
could be sent to newbies to help them up the rather steep learning
curve. Ultimately I would like to see it published and sold in
bookstores (preferably by O'Reilly & Co.).
Below is the outline for the book. We REALLY

Asterisk on Fedora Core 2 startup script
I need an rc script that will autorun the module for the wctdm and then
follow that by running asterisk. A first look at google tells me to try this
list.
Thanks,

Asterisk daemon dies about once per day
I have an asterisk system where the asterisk daemon dies typically at least once per day. It is running in the wrapper safe_asterisk, which automatically starts the daemon back up. But we find this unacceptable because when the daemon dies, we usually have active calls drop, and sometimes we have to run asterisk -r -x "module reload" after the daemon starts back up before everything is

chan_unical-MFC/R2 CPU usage problem
Hi All,
I have installed chan_unicall and MFC/R2 successfully, and is runnign fine.
But I noticed that once unicall is installed, asterisk CPU usage as reported by 'top', jumps to 99% every few seconds.
I have no incoming calls, and I have even removed the E1 lines from card and I tried almost everything possible but I was not successful in determining the cause of this high cpu

mount toption: nodev
Hi,
I am trying to secure my CentOS file systems by introducing "nodev" to devies defined in /etc/fstab. I learned that "nodev" prevents users from mounting unauthorized devices. However, I can still mount a cdrom to /tmp/cdrom with the following defined in /etc/fstab. Am I missing something? Thanks.

Applications, dialplan not loading
I've built the latest CVS of asterisk -- not the zaptel or libpri
directories, just the asterisk directory. asterisk installs
successfully, but there are severe problems. I built this system in the
past and ran it, but now building it again fails. This is the CVS as of
this morning, 2003-06-13, but I had problems on 06-11/12 as well.
After make; make install; make samples; make config, I

New RPM packages for CentOS4.0
Greetings list,
It's been a while since I've been able to focus on asterisk packaging
but this weekend I took some time to audit and recompile packages for
CentOS 4.2. You can find them here.
ftp://ftp.linuxsys.com/ftp/pub/releases/CentOS-4.0
You have your choice of 1.2.1 or 1.0.10 releases. If you need zaptel
modules then install this kernel as well:

ztdummy does not load properly at server startup
Hi
I run asterisk 1.4.2 with zaptel 1.4.1.
Zaptel is only needed for the ztdummy driver to get the Meetme()
application to work. I don't have any specific hardware.
And it does work nicely. When I reboot the machine however I have to
manually load the driver like this:
[root@vink ~]# modprobe ztdummy
Notice: Configuration file is /etc/zaptel.conf
line 0: Unable to open master device

How to Clone Asterisk
I want to essentially transplant my existing Asterisk server to a new
machine, and take the old sever out of service.
Assuming I install Asterisk on the new machine, does anyone know what files
I would have to copy over? What comes to mind are the *.conf files in
/etc/asterisk, as well as the voicemail audio files. Anything else?

I am sorry that I may bring the old question to the community. My question
is
1. How can we determine if asterisk is working normally or not ? what kind
watchdog process do we have at this moment ?
2. In case the running asterisk is mulfucntion, is there any available way
to auto restart asterisk ??
Please advise if you could.
Thanks.

x-lite
Hi everyone,
Has anyone experience with xten.net's X-Lite SIP softphone and asterisk? I have a problem and I think X-Lite is not even trying to contact SIP proxy while dialing.

problem with safe_asterisk
Hi all,
I have installed some Asterisk machine, all with the same problem.
My typical configuration is:
- Asterisk 1.2.14 (or 1.4.0beta3)
- CentOS 4.4 server.
The problem is this:
When I start Asterisk with the default init script (/etc/init.d/asterisk
start) distributed with the source, and kill (or kill -9) Asterisk-pid,
then safe_asterisk doesn't correctly work (it dies and not restart

Use safe_asterisk manually, you get colors in CLI. Crontab it, you don't.

Asterisk Seg faulting.... No core dump.
I have a instance of Asterisk 1.2.14 that is being run from safe_asterisk.
Asterisk is seg faulting and NOT generating a core dump.
Why would that be? How can I make it dump core? Is there a setting in the safe_asterisk script that I am missing?
Thanks,
Doug.
