2 Problems with 1.6.2
I've been using 1.6.2 for a few weeks and I've managed to get almost everything working perfectly. I can't get the MWI indicators on my Aastra phones to work properly, the did in all the versions of 1.2 I used up to the most recent one, but now they work correctly right after the phone is re-started and rarely thereafter. it's as if something changed in the way the MWI is

Handset recommendations
Seeking recommendations on handsets for use with Asterisk. I've been looking at the Aastra 480i CT because of its cordless handset and also the new Linksys SPA-942. Anyone using either one of these with comments on them? Any other thoughts on good reasonably priced handsets? This is for just a couple of people who work from home offices and will be connecting to an Asterisk server hosted

A little OT but need an opinion on Aastra 57i CT
Hello All, I have a need for a wireless solution and have been looking at the Aastra 57i CT phone that have the wireless handset with them. Aastra says they will cover "up to 300,000 square feet". I am finding this hard to accept. I was also wondering about the "secure WDCT cordless technology" Could this be a form of DECT? Any one using these that can shed some lite?

POE draw on Aastra 480i
Anyone know what the POE draw is for the Aastra 480i phones? We have switches that will do 15 watts on 12 ports but only do 7.7 watts on all 24 ports. A Cisco 3560 switch will do 15.6 watts on all 24 ports. Just trying to find out if we need that much power. Can't seem to find any info on the Aastra site. Comments?

Aastra 480i & Asterisk 1.8.3.2: No musiconhold
After upgrading to 1.8.3.2 today, I notice that my Aastra 480i SIP phones no longer initiate hold music when a call is placed on hold. I seem to be having the same issue as the person here: http://forums.digium.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=77553 Has anyone else run into this issue? -- Anthony - http://messinet.com - http://messinet.com/~amessina/gallery 8F89 5E72 8DF0 BCF0 10BE 9967 92DC 35DC

What are the reasons for VoIP echo?
I have an Asterisk 1.4.2 system that has been installed for about 3 months now in our home. We converted all of our phones to SIP phones, and use two different trunk providers (BroadVoice for incoming & FlowRoute for outgoing). Most of the time its working flawlessly. But about 1/3rd of the calls that come into us complain of an echo and what is best described as latency issues. Its

Aastra phones
Hi, I`ve been toying with an Aastra phone (9143i) wondering if it could be a good alternative to to the more expensive Polycom phones. One thing which I can't figure out, although it certainly looks simple, is to update the firmware though FTP (not TFTP). I have set the ftp provisioning server in the Aastra phone, and put the firmware file 9143i.st in the root folder where the

Aastra phones cannot transfer calls?
I have two Aastra phones, a 6730 and a 6757, both connected to Asterisk v1.6.2.1. They can call each other's extensions (and make and receive calls otherwise), but they cannot transfer calls, not even to outside extensions on the PSTN. The procedure I use is to accept a call on one phone, press the transfer button, dial the other extension, and then press "transfer" again after the
