AuthorizedKeysFile
OpenSSH 3.1
Not really a bug, but an "undocumented feature".
The default sshd_config file show the default setting for AuthorizedKeysFile
as being:
AuthorizedKeysFile .ssh/authorized_keys
If you uncomment that default, it changes the "undocumented" setting for
"AuthorizedKeysFile2", which is by default:
AuthorizedKeysFile2 .ssh/authorized_keys2

Trouble writing authorized_keys2
I''ve got a situation where a manifest fails when writing one particular key
for a user. What I have is a manifest that looks like this:
class my::accounts () {
Ssh_authorized_key {
ensure => present,
type => ssh-dss,
}
Then, after making sure the user, group, and authorized_keys2 file exist:
ssh_authorized_key { "key-name-1":

Push /home/* directories recursively to clients
Hi I am trying to push populate /home & subdirectories from the puppet
server to all the Linux clients.
I managed this with cfengine using rsync. But I am not sure how do I
achieve this in puppet, do we have any inbuilt function for this.
Also, is there a function for userdel like for useradd (user)
groupadd(group).
Any suggestion is appreciated.

Chroot patch (v3.4p1)
The following is a patch I've been working on to support a "ChrootUser"
option in the sshd_config file.
I was looking for a way to offer sftp access and at the same time restict
interactive shell access. This patch is a necessary first step (IMO).
It applies clean with 'patch -l'.
Also attached is a shell script that helps to build a chrooted home dir on

sftp-server debug output
Help! I am trying to get debug output working with sftp-server, and
can''t seem to find the appropriate information to get it working. Yes,
I have recompiled sftp-server to include defining DEBUG_SFTP_SERVER. I
found that myself in the code before finding it in several postings as
the common answer to others having this problem.
In addition, I have set up the sshd_config file

extract columns from a dataframe
Dear R users,
I'm coming back to R after while. I have a data frame with 200 columns,
each column has a name. How to extract all columns to a new dataset, but
the specified (by names) ones?
I was playing with that for a little bit using the vector syntax but got
several syntax errors.
Thanks,

R commands formating for LaTeX
Dear R users,
I have to include typical UNIX formated R commands and outputs into the
article using LaTeX.
What is the easiest way to include R prompt commands and text outputs
(including messages) into LaTeX documents? Is there any template or library?
So far I'm trying to produce R commands in LaTeX using LaTeX general
format options.
Thanks,
Rado

automating icecast2 startups
Hey Rado,
Ack... Yep, I'll give that a shot. Can't just shut down the streams at
any given time. This may have to wait for testing.
The friend I am helping set this up has decided the quality of Ogg
Vorbis FAR outweighs the benefits and performance of MP3. Plus, there
are the licensing issues involved with MP3.
Any ideas on how to do set up a dual stream, one for low bandwidth users
