How to use * and # as part of number indialcommand
Michel Send me the same output for a dial string that only sends the *31* Is this an ISDN line? What type of card/signalling/switchtype are you using? It looks as if the PSTN switch accepts the *31* and then hangs up so you can make the NEXT call with the *31* feature enabled. If so I assume the *31* feature will be enabled for the next call on the ENTIRE SPAN if it is an ISDN trunk group. If

Performance problems? (kinda long)
Hello all! First, let me apologize if this is painfully obvious; I searched the list archives a few times and poked around the 'net, to no avail... I'm having a wee problem with Samba's performance (speed) on a Linux 2.1.132 server. Specifically, the server is working at about half the speed of an NT machine. The Samba server (running Redhat 5.2 w/ kernel 2.1.132) is considerably

Caller ID on Snom 190?
Has anyone had success with the Snom 190 displaying caller ID name and number on the Snom 190 on for an inbound call from *? Right now our Snom's only show the caller id name, not number. I know the number is transmitted from the Telco and received by * since the number shows on the incoming call event at the * console. We are not setting the caller id in the extensions.conf, simply passing

What is acceptable network latency forvoipconnection?
In the real world (or at least in my world) we use undersubscribed internet connections that come with a service level agreement (SLA) that guarantees that the jitter, delay, and packet loss with be within defined parameters in the service agreement. With most DSL and Cable you will not get a SLA, with the cheapest T1s you might get one, but the only penalty to the ISP if they do not meet is a

HELP! rsync won't upload my .htpasswd files
Hello, I'm in the process of launching a site (http://www.intraspect.com <http://www.intraspect.com/> ). I'm using rsync to synchronize between our staging server and our production server. All of my files are uploading correctly except for a couple of .htpasswd files which reside in /var/apache/webscripts I'm guessing that they won't upload because they start with

* point to point t1 solution? / alternatives
This has been an interesting discussion for me (except for the sniping). The last post led me, out of curiosity, to this wiki entry: http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+TDMoE I was unaware of this feature, and it looks pretty good. I've been pondering replacing some T1's by leveraging IP capacity but of course have run up against the QoS issue. My idea was different... I

Plotting a function with curve()
Why does > curve(function(y) y^2, from=0,to=1) not work, whereas > myf <- function(y) y^2 > curve(myf, from=0,to=1) work? For the former, I get the error message Error in curve(function(y) y^2, from = 0, to = 1) : 'expr' must be a function or an expression containing 'x' I'm using R1.7.0 under Windows XP. Damon Wischik.

Bug: subscriptions file does not take on the same perms as dovecot-shared
All, Version: 1.1.rc5 Solaris x86 on ZFS Shared Folder Bug, renamed a folder with sub folders (Maildir format) After the rename the subscriptions file is own by the person who renamed the folders, and access is owner rw only. Instead it should be the same as dovecot-shared which would general be rw owner, and rw group for a shared folder. Cheers Damon.

NUT control of vCenter & vServer?
That's certainly on the list of options. I'm doing data gathering right now to see what options there are. I'd prefer not to rashly decide to run off in a direction only to discover this is already a Solved Problem. nomad On Thu, May 14, 2020 at 1:13 PM Bart J. WEBrick just decided to take a hiatus on me
Good day all. This is one of the most frustrating days I have had with Rails in quite some time now (almost 8 months actually). Yesterday I complete my development and testing and everything is peachy. I head home for the evening and do my things there. This morning, I come back in and do my typical morning routine of starting up eclipse and the usual "ruby script/server" command in

Problems doing addition/subtraction with floats
Ok, I am sure this is a simplistic problem that I am just missing right now (maybe eyes are crossed??). However, I am trying to do simply math here. I have these variables initialized as follows: @amount_due = @amount_paid = @total_due = 0.0 I get @total_due and it is set to 1739.6 from the database. I then get @amount_paid and it is set to 1739.6 from the database. I then calculate the

Factor names & levels
When I alter the levels of a factor, why does it alter the names too? f <- factor(c(A="one",B="two",C="one",D="one",E="three"), levels=c("one","two","three")) names(f) -- gives [1] "A" "B" "C" "D" "E" levels(f) <-

NUT control of vCenter & vServer?
Thanks Bart. Unfortunately "The VIB module does not comply with the security recommendations imposed by VMWare. You lose VMWare support by installing this package." This pretty much rules out this option. :( We need vCenter support, as well. nomad On Thu, May 14, 2020 at 10:06 AM Bart J.
