find canonic host name
I am concerned about the code under the comment /* Find canonic host name. */ in ssh.c. This replaces the hostname entered by the user with the cannonical name determined by getaddrinfo, causing the new name to be used henceforth. This includes connecting to the host, and finding its public key in a known_hosts file. getaddrinfo seems (on Debian GNU/Linux 2.2, GNU libc 2.1.3) to look up

[LLVMdev] Phishing Attack?
I am compiling svn head LLVM at the moment and I keep getting requests for password, which never used to occur before, followed by: Connection closed by 147.32.84.4, which is some site in Amsterdam. This occurs at this point in the make execution: make[3]: Entering directory `......./llvm/lib/Target/X86' Is this genuine, or has someone hacked the code and inserted some phishing attack into

I got scammed of $150 due to email phishing. Beware
Yes it is true and the very reason why i want all my Google Group Friends to be aware of the latest scams. They are not listed on the Scam Buster sites simple because they go unnoticed , well people like me get duped though. Please read <http://workfromhomedepot.blogspot.com/2008/02/latest-email-scam-fraud-phishing-online.html>and forward to all the people you care for. -- Yours Sincerely

[LLVMdev] Phishing Attack?
This appears to be not as bad as I first feared. I had been using llvm previously on a remote machine and for some inexplicable reason a fresh compilation on my local machine wanted to make a connection to the remote one, in the context of: Updated Intrinsics.gen because Intrinsics.gen.tmp changed significantly. Though why this should be necessary, or useful, is beyond me.

[LLVMdev] "Phishing Attack" Solved
Sorry about taking up the bandwith here, I have solved this interesting bug of my own now. It turns out I had inadvertently inserted a shell script into my search path which happened to have the same name as one of the more obscure system programs used in the LLVM Makefile execution and this was trying to connect to the remote machine instead of getting on with the job.... a warning against using

Phishing attempt posing as digium
Did anyone else just get what looks like a phising attempt pretending to be from digium? It appears to be full of links to http://app.en25.com/e/er.aspx I must admit, it looks genuine.

Phishing attempt
FYI/Heads up, I /just/ received what looks like a phishing attempt for information about Open Source PBX usage. It says it comes from Digium but all the links (including the one for digium.com) point elsewhere. Rod --

[patch] Automatically add keys to agent
My keys are secured with a passphrase. That's good for security, but having to type the passphrase either at every login or at every invocation of ssh(1) is annoying. I know I could invoke ssh-add(1) just before invoking ssh(1), if I keep track of whether I invoked it already, or write some hacky scripts; but the rest of OpenSSH is wonderfully usable without any hacks. Hence, this patch.

rsync -rcv printing out filenames when content identical
Hi, I'm heavly relying on rsync -nvrc during my day-to-day work in UNIX-like enviroment. I'm using rsync for few years now and today I've found a situation which I do not understand. I have two directories with few maildirs in it. Each maildir containg some emails. I'm testing scripts which I wrote to manipulate those emails. Each time I want to revert changes in one set of

polkit helper timeout and defunct pkla-check-authorization processes on CentOS 7.3
Hi everyone, We seem to be having issues on multiple CentOS 7.3 machines. The problem seems to revolve around polkitd. At some random time, polkitd seems to stop responding on my systems. Along with this, there might be hundreds of defunct pkla-check-authorization processes. If I reboot, then things are fine for a while. I don't see any activity in the unabridged journal to suggest anything

imapsieve: script not triggered
Hi, folks! My problem: I set up dovecot with imapsieve to execute a script whenever a user copies a mail to his Spam folder (spam autolearning). Unfortunately this script is never executed regardless what I?m configuring for imapsieve. It looks like dovecot doesn?t really load the plugin? The "dovecot -n" output is attached. I already tried setting imapsieve_mailbox1_name to *, but

Mail addresses with quotes + Postfix
I wrapped the LDA command in a script. I can see that Postfix passes "@@mydomain.tld" as the -d argument, without quotes. I then adapted the script to specifically replace this address with "@"@mydomain.tld, but this results in the following error message by Dovecot: ??? auth: Info: userdb(?): Username character disallowed by auth_username_chars: 0x22 (username:

Internal DNS Forwarder
I have setup a Samba PDC using the following guide: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setup_a_Samba_Active_Directory_Domain_Controller I have opted to use the internal Samba DNS server and have specified a DNS forwarder of 8.8.8.8 When I test the DNS functionality according to the guide everything appears fine: user at myhost:~$ host -t SRV _ldap._tcp.ad.mydomain.com.au.
