openssh-2.9.9p2 subscript violation problems with ctype macros
In several places, openssh-2.9.9p2 passes a 'char' value to a ctype
macro like 'isdigit'. This has undefined behavior on hosts with
signed characters, if the character value happens to be negative. For
example, isdigit('\200') expands to an array access that is a
subscript error on hosts with signed characters where '\200' == -128.
This leads to incorrect results,

Effect of the R framework on ctype.c
Dear all,
I'm facing a strange behavior in the the C code of a R package. This package, "rcqp", is a wrapper on an existing program that I did not write, "CWB".
In this package, on a linux (ubuntu and debian) system, the code :
printf(%d\n", isupper('A'));
outputs :

When compiled with the R framework (It behaves correctly when CWB is compiled as a

Call for testing: OpenSSH-5.6
Hi,
OpenSSH 5.6 is almost ready for release, so we would appreciate testing
on as many platforms and systems as possible. This is a moderately large
release, with a number of new features and bug fixes.
Snapshot releases for portable OpenSSH are available from
http://www.mindrot.org/openssh_snap/
The OpenBSD version is available in CVS HEAD:

isspace() and other ctype.h functions
Hm, finally subscribed here, forgot to...
Anyway, I'm using klibc in udev and have added some needed functions
(like ftruncate and vsyslog). Should I post the patches here before
commiting them to the cvs tree?
Also, it looks like ctype.h has a off-by-one bug. isspace(' ') returns
0 right now, but if you change the function from:
__ctype_inline int isspace(int __c)

[PATCH] fix off-by-one correction in ctypes
Me again,
Here's a patch to fix ctypes. There was an off-by-one correction that
looks like it isn't needed. Boundary conditions and single-entry items,
like isspace(), now work for me.

Clang -O0 performs optimizations that undermine dynamic bug-finding tools
Hi everyone,
I found that Clang -O0 performs optimizations that undermine dynamic
bug-finding tools.
First, most bug finding tools such as ASan, Valgrind, Dr. Memory, Mudflap,
Purify and Safe Sulong (on which I am working) rely on detecting errors
during the execution of the program. They either insert additional checks
during compile-time or during run-time which are executed when the program

PATCH: krb4/krb5/... names/patterns in auth_keys entries
This patch (to OpenSSH 3.0.2p1) adds support for using krb4, krb5 and
other principal names in authorized_keys entries.
It's a sort of replacement for .klogin and .k5login, but it's much more
general than .k*login as it applies to any authentication mechanism
where a name is associated with the ssh client and it supports name
patterns and all the normal authorized_keys entry options

Feature request: FQDN Host match
Hello!
I'm hoping that Gmail won't HTML format this mail so that I'll get flamed :)
Anyway, my question relates to ssh_config. The problem I find is that
the Host pattern is only applied to the argument given on the command
line, as outlined in the man page:
"The host is the hostname argument given on the command line (i.e. the
name is not converted to a canonicalized host name

get rid of various warnings, errors in io.h
In 0.97 io.h is wrong in several places.
it should be returning __v, not v.
static __inline__ unsigned char
inb(unsigned short __p)
{
unsigned char __v;
asm volatile("inb %1,%0" : "=a" (__v) : "dN" (__p));
return v;
}
How do I get rid of these warnings?

rosh patch V2
Here is a second version of my patch from last night.
It uses the provided ctype function isspace and does the same readdir().
I remove the rosh_issp() function. I admit to being a bit liberal with my
use of braces and spaces.
We all of the habit of knowing we can invent a more perfect wheel.
Let me know if you have any questions.

[PATCH 1/1] rework printing for visual host key upper border
Key types are getting longer and the current implementation of visual
host key breaks with ED25519, resulting in (note the missing bracket):
+--[ED25519 256--+
This reworks the calculation of visual host key upper border. Please be
aware that this slightly modifies the output for other key types as well:
+--[ DSA 1024]----+
+---[DSA 1024]----+
+--[ RSA 2048]----+

[patch] Updated patch for pkcs#11 smartcard readers that have a protected PIN path
Some smartcard readers have keypad to enter the PIN securely (i.e. such that it cannot be intercepted by a rogue (ssh) binary.
PKCS#11 allows for enforcing this in hardware. Below patch allows for SSH to make use of this; against head/master as of today.

[LLVMdev] [cfe-dev] Unicode path handling on Windows
Here's a new patch that fixes all the issues mentioned before. Note that
this isn't final, I didn't want to replace all calls to ::stat so that it's
easier to review.
I have only one more questions:
1. _wopen accepts _stat64i32 instead of stat structure. These two are
exactly the same, the only difference is that stat uses time_t
and _stat64i32 uses __time64_t (time_t is a
