getaddrinfo: nodename nor servname provided, or not known
Hi there, If I want to create email within my application (in production), how is this best achieved?? Following the railsspace tutorial, it only really suggests to use :smtp. I''d read on another site that to generate emails locally, i need to use :sendmail instead... However - I havent seen any decent examples of how to get this configured to be able to send emails within my local

Refresh not working with launchd service provider?
Hi, Refresh doesn''t seem to be working with the launched service provider on OS X Lion (10.7.4). I''ve come up with a simple "service" script, plist file and puppet script to apply to demonstrate. The problem. Here''s the shell script which logs an initial starting message and then just loops logging a "Still running…" message.

I have run it as a daemon (--daemon) with a configuration file and have created a plist file and put it in the launch directory. Still can’t get a connection. When I run ths ps –E on the system, I don’t see rsync running. Any links to good setup docs? Brad No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by

Troubleshooting on OS X
I've got tinc running happily on a couple linux and win computers, but no luck on OS X. I'm on Yosemite 10.10.5, and I think I followed the OS X tutorial exactly, but no luck. Here's my error message: > sudo tincd -n dpsf -D -d3 tincd 1.0.21 (Feb 3 2015 20:09:36) starting, debug level 3 Could not open /dev/tun0: No such file or directory Terminating And here's the contents

kernel update to 3.12.5-1, now: upsd[617]: getaddrinfo: Servname not supported for ai_socktype
Charles, All, I just updated the kernel on my Arch box (the one we have been working on nut with on this list). Now upsd fails to start. (upsdrvctl is fine). I've posted working then -- Reboot -- the failing log information below. The 'Reboot' was for the kernel upgrade: Dec 14 14:02:00 phoinix systemd[1]: Starting Network UPS Tools - power devices information server... Dec 14

Problem with sshd host key checking, for my own build with custom prefix
Hello openssh developers, I was builiding openssh-4.7p, and it builds successfully with my own prefix (--prefix=/path/to/sshd). The problem is when I execute sshd, it warns about permission being too open: hostname:/path root# /path/to/sshd -t -f /path/to/sshd_config @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ @ WARNING: UNPROTECTED PRIVATE KEY FILE! @

Issues on sshd host keys
Hello openssh-unix-dev list members, This is related to my previous post, but I need to ask specific questions. I'm building openssh with iPhone Toolchain (http://wikee.iphwn.org/howto:toolchain_on_leopard_aspen) for iPhone 2.1 firmware. This is not an iPhone mailing list, but probably anyone with deep knowledge of openssh could give a hint. So this is what I do: 1. I patch the files using

I've figured this one out... Just wanted to get it into the dovecot mailing list archive so that somebody in the future might find it if they need it.
