OpenSSH 1.2.1 pre26, solaris 8ea and IPv6 - good news
I don't know if anyone else has tested it yet, but the IPv6 integration
into OpenSSH seems to work just fine on my Solaris 8 box, as much as I
can I've tested it and it's behaving nicely.

[Bug 164] X-forwarding when connecting to an IPv6-enabled host doesn't work.

Try to set IPV6_V6ONLY if available. Open ::1 and 127.0.0.1 if x11_use_localhost is set.

openssh-based file transfers (e.g. rsync, scp, ...) are running 40 (!!) times faster via IPv4 than IPv6
Servus Philipp,
Unfortunately the traceroute(6) results are both more or less random. Sometimes traceroute "hangs" a while, wherever,
sometimes traceroute6. Sometimes traceroute is faster, sometimes traceroute6. Not reliable.
Your MTU question, tried as adviced:
Maximum size for IPv4 is 1466, and max size for IPv6 is 1444. Exceeding these values leads to a "ping: local error:

sshd killed due to dos attack
Hi,
I am not sure to report this as a bug. so mailing to the list.
I have sshd(openssh3.5p1) server running on my router and when i run tcpjunk
to that port, sshd gets killed after some time
192.168.71.1 is my sshd server and 192.168.71.4 is my client from where i
send my dos attack
This is the tcpjunk command i gave to the ssh server
#tcpjunk -s 192.168.71.1 -p 22 -c req -i 100

openssh on HPUX 11i
In case this hasn't already been reported or discussed...
It took some doing for me to get openssh working on HPUX 11i.
The fixes are quite simple. First, one must have the IPV6
package installed:
em 512# swlist -l product | grep IPV6
IPV6AA A.01.01.5D IPv6 11i product
Second, I have to edit config.h to undefine HAVE_GETADDRINFO.
Without IPV6, ssh can't connect

patch for openssh-1.2.2p1
Hi,
openssh-1.2.2p1 seems to have 2 problems on ipv6 (and
ipv4 mapped addresses).
1. "BREAKIN ATTEMPT" warnings from ipv4 node
2. X forwarding
The following patche fixes them.
Thanks.

openssh-based file transfers (e.g. rsync, scp, ...) are running 40 (!!) times faster via IPv4 than IPv6
Vincenzo,
thanks for answering !!!
As I found out before that this slow down only happens for encrypted transmissions, I've followed your suggestion and
tested with a https-based download, from my Nextcloud instance on my VPS.
Same slow speed when connecting via IPv6, and as fast as expected when connecting via IPv4.
Just to confirm: There's NO dependency/relation between openssh and

X11 forwarding to IPv6 enabled host not working.
I have been experiencing a problem with using X11 forwarding on an IPv6
enabled host (both CentOS 4.3 and Feddora Core 5 in x86) when
X11UseLocalhost is off.
Having looked at the code and the previous discussion regarding
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=164 I think the problem is
due to the IPV6_V6ONLY code interacting poorly with the
DONT_TRY_OTHER_AF hack. Basically, on current
