openssh-5.0p1: sftp transfer logging doesn't appear to work with
I've implemented the /dev/log socket inside my chroot environment. I'm
able to log the users interactions with the server, but I have one
remaining issue. The logs don't contain and usernames or userids. The
process ID is logged and we could go through and try to associate the
process ID with the user who logged in, but I was hoping to find an
easier way. We need to be able to

openssh-5.0p1: sftp transfer logging doesn't appear to work with chroot environment
Hi all,
I am running Debian Etch. I've compiled openssh-5.0p1 with pam
support. I'd like to use a chrooted sftp environment for my users and
also log their sftp file transfers. Currently file transfer logging
stops working when I implement a jail. Logging from within the chroot
seems like a useful feature. I hope it makes it in sooner rather than
later.

Syslog for chroot-jailed SFTP users?
Maybe one of you can help. We have set up a CentOS server so that
each user who logs in via sftp will be jailed in their home directory.
Here's the relevant sshd_config:
# override default of no subsystems
Subsystem sftp internal-sftp -f LOCAL2 -l INFO
Match Group sftponly
ChrootDirectory /home/%u
ForceCommand internal-sftp
This actually works great, but none of

sftp chroot
Hi all:
I'm looking to chroot sftp; but not chroot ssh sessions. I came across
some info that said this is possible.
But after searching this list's archives and Google, I was rather confused
about the different patches for chrooting, and couldn't find anything that
appeared to only chroot sftp.
Is such a patch available? Can someone point me in the right direction?

Wine 2001.11.08, FreeBSD 4.{2,4}, Lightwave 5.6 Screamernet Node
Sorry for the limited detail here. To make matters worse, I don't have
access to the machines in question any more. But perhaps someone would
be able to give me some pointers to useful avenues to pursue.
I'm trying to use Wine on FreeBSD (versions 4.2 and 4.4), to act as a
Lightwave 5.6 render node, using Lightwave's ScreamerNet software. The
software is for NT 4.0.

ForceCommand internal-sftp causes sftp logging to fail (openssh-5.0p1)
Hi guys,
I have a server setup with openssh-5.0p1 and use some users as
sftp-only chroot accounts.
The following configuration yields exactly the result I want:
user is chrooted, logs to syslog, all is good.

Subsystem sftp internal-sftp -f AUTHPRIV -l VERBOSE
Match User fredwww
ChrootDirectory %h

Its when syslogd stops/starts. The hardlinks need to be recreated for
some reason.

TrueType fonts, 3d modellers and wine
Hello,
Many 3d modellers can use TrueType fonts to create 3D objects of words.
Lightwave and Behemont are two that spring to mind. I can't find any on
linux.
However, both lightwave and behemont give me the error:
fixme:commdlg:CFn_WMInitDialog No font found with truetype only,
dropping flag
This is after the font has been correctly displayed in a "font
selection" box. The

bind chroot, bind mounts and selinux
Hi All,
I'm migrating a CentOS 6 bind instance (chrooted) to a CentOS 7 box and am curious of people's
opinions on chrooting vs selinux as a way of securing bind.
The bind-chroot on CentOS 7 also comes with a script (/usr/libexec/setup-named-chroot.sh) that sets
up the much maligned systemd and, through bind mounts, creates and extra level of chroot hierarchy

chroot sftp-server [PATCH]
I'm working on setting up a semi-trusted sftp service, and to get it
working, I need chroot capability.
I've taken the /./ wuftpd magic token code from contrib/chroot.diff and
put it into the sftp server. The main problem is that privileges have
been dropped by the time the subsystem is exec'ed, so my patch requires
that sftp-server be setuid root. Not ideal, I know, but I drop all

Has anyone managed to get Lightwave Modeller running under wine?
Whe I try it crashes just after the main screen has been drawn or at the
very best after I try to create an object.

Anyone here user lightwave/screamernet
Hi there guys
this is my first post here, I thought I would inform everyone that I am
currently building a screamernet controller in gtk+
I first got the idea after being interested in lightnet on win32, but
since it was written in delphi, a language I care little about I went
ahead with writing my own controller. Soon after win2k would crash
almost every hour and unknown to me, breaking my

chroot: Error: Temp file creation to /tmp
Hello,
We are using dovecot (2.2.10) and it's working great! When I enable
chrooting by appending /./ to the homedirs I'm getting errors like this:
mail1 dovecot[47074]: imap(user): Error: Temp file creation to
/tmp/dovecot.imap.mail1.70079. failed: No such file or directory
On the surface everything seems to be working fine and I have not been
able to produce the error myself.
