REofRE: password change on the domain password server using clienttools
Hi Lieven
Thanks for advise !
the
getent passwd
command shows me all the users of the 2k domain in this format :
DOMAIN2K+user:x:10000:10026::/home/NetBiosName/user:/bin/bash
I think that's correct. But do you think I got to use nss pam or something
like that ?
I just can't login with a 2000 user on Samba, but guests (unknown users )
can, when I permit them to. So I think users are

about: memory allocation and the balloon list
Dear all
I use the command( xm mem-set ID mem ) trying to understand the memory allocation between the Dom0 and the Guests(vm),
but there is still some confusion about this.
As the above /proc/xen/balloon list
I set xm mem-set Domain-0 128
and changing the vm memory from 256 to 128: xm mem-set vm01 128 (...from vm01 to vm08)
before mem-setCurrent allocation: 427792 kB

Issues with Joining an NT4 Domain
Hello
I'm having some dificulties joining my Samba 3.0alpha (and 2.2.7a)
machine to my NT4 domain. Let me tell you what I'm attempting to
accomplish. I want to setup the Samba system to authenticate to my NT
domain so that I can use NTLM Proxy authentication with SQUID. Through
reading the docs, I'm under the impression that in order to allow thre

Designate one samba server for home directories
Hello all,
I have a few samba servers running winbind that are joined to the AD 2003
domain.
Is it possible to designate one samba server to host the users' home
directories instead of each one of them?
If we have samba1, samba2, and samba3 and designate samba1 to host the home
directories and when a user accesses samba 2 either via ssh or as a share,
the home directory that the user sees

Tip: I() can designate constants in a regression
Just thought I would share a tip I learned:
The function I() is useful for specifying constants to formulas and
regressions.
It will prevent nls (for example) from trying to treat the variable
inside I() as something it needs to estimate. An example is below.
-David
P.S. This may be obvious to some, but it is not made clear to be by
the documentation or common books that I reviewed.

Program logic behind Ruby On Rails
Hi, I''m a newbie in both Ruby and Ruby on Rails. I finished the Ruby on
Rail Tutorial on Todo list and it was great. But, now I''m trying to
understand the logic behind it, that is something that is not obvious on
how each one of them ties together.
Is there a flowchart that shows how the inner working of Ruby on Rails?

request for feature
Dear developers,
I need the feature of separately jailed, user writeable and user owned
home dirs very badly because I have an SFTP server with 500 users who
are partly nested
could you please add a feature to set non root chroots with the %h
option ? Otherwise I have to rewrite the chroot patch for 4.7p1 :-(
thank you very much in advance

ident daemon: oIdentd creating a lot of processes
hi! all,
i'm using oidentd-2.0.8 installed through /usr/ports/security/oidentd
for ident authentication
what puzzled me is when im starting the daemon using the script
provided at /usr/local/etc/rc.d/oidentd.sh it will create a lot of
process ID and my system will become slow
CPU resources will turn upside down rapidly from 90+% idle to always 0% idle
this is the PIDs while querying daemon
