Problem building openssh-4.3p2 under cygwin and windows XP
I am trying to build openssh-4.3p2 portable source under Cygwin running under Windows XP SP2. I have installed Cygwin 1.5.19-4 along with these significant packages (installed using the cygwin setup program): gcc 3.4.4-1 minires-devel 1.00-1 openssl 0.9.8a-1 openssl-devel 0.9.8a-1 openssl097 0.9.7i-1 tcp_wrappers 7.6-1 zlib 1.2.3-1 I used the instructions in openssh-4.3p2/contrib./cygwin/README

makedepend in Mesa
While keeping up-to-date the nouveau mesa driver (either classic or gallium), or doing regression testing, the big majority of my rebuilds resulted in segfaults. I am not talking about autogen or configure detection. I believe this also works automatically in other projects and doesn't with mesa, but forgetting to do this usually causes a build failure. Then autogen/configure can be run and

xauth location in openssh-1.2pre17
The current configuration only works if xauth can be found at /usr/X11R6/bin/xauth, which creates some problems when running sshd on an openwin system. Contained below are patches to find the path of xauth in configure, and set the path in config.h. (also contained is a patch for configure for those without autoconf) Also-- added #include "bsd-daemon" to includes.h, which quiets a

mkdep vs. makedepend
Where I work, we have an application that has been merrily running away (and being built) on FC1 (yes, you read that right). One of my assignments is to bring this up to CentOS, but on my first effort, I ran into this interesting "feature." The original build process (FC1) uses mkdep to generate the dependency files that are subsequently used by the makes to build the app. mkdep does

A question on Compilation errors...
Hello I am attempting to build on a LynxOS platform and am using a old version of zlib and OpenSSL-0.9.6a. I get past the configure stage by ignoring the zlib version check. However, at make stage I run into the following undefineds. Any idea what may be causing this. I am using version 3.8p1 of OpenSSH. Thank you in advance for your response Amba (cd openbsd-compat && make)

Remake configure/config.h.in/etc.
Since multiple people have applied my UseLogin patch and failed to get it to work because configure/config.h.in were not automatically rebuilt, I decided it was time to add some rules to the Makefiles to update these things. The appended patch will cause a "make" to rebuild configure, config.h.in, config.h, and both Makefiles if the appropriate source file(s) change. It will also run

Typo in configure.in
Hello! In configure.in from openssh-2.2.0p1 you are using $xno and $xyes several times. However, those variables are not defined. I guess you mean literals "xno" and "xyes" in all those cases. If that's correct please apply the patch at the end of this message. Regards, Pavel Roskin _____________________ --- configure.in Wed Aug 30 18:20:05 2000 +++ configure.in Wed Oct
