How to remove group1 and group14 from OpenSSH..
Hello everyone.. I am fairly new to the patching format.. so I just decided to post a basic info about how to remove group1 and group14 diffie key exchange in OpenSSH. I know that they are listed as required in RFC 4253 but I don't want a client to have the choice to use a 1024 bit prime for the key exchange. If someone is getting into my system.. they should upgrade to a new client. I am a

RFC: encrypted hostkeys patch
Hi, About a year and a half ago I brought up the topic of encrypted hostkeys and posted a patch (http://marc.info/?l=openssh-unix-dev&m=132774431906364&w=2), and while the general reaction seemed receptive to the idea, a few problems were pointed out with the implementation (UI issues, ssh-keysign breakage). I've finally had some spare time in which to get back to this, and I've

sshd gets stuck: select() in packet_read_seqnr waits indefinitely
Dear OpenSSH Portable sshd developers, I'm having a problem where sshd login sessions are occasionally (as often as once a day) getting stuck indefinitely. I enabled debug messages and got a backtrace of a stuck sshd, and I think I've found the bug. I wanted to run it by the list once before filing. sshd version: OpenSSH_4.2p1 FreeBSD-20050903, OpenSSL 0.9.7e-p1 25 Oct 2004

DH group selection for SHA2-512 bit HMAC.
Hi. I've got the following problem with our SSH client library: - client connects to OpenSSH 5.9+ server and they choose hmac-sha2-512 with diffie-hellman-group-exchange-sha256. - client sends MSG_KEX_DH_GEX_REQUEST DH group request with parameters (1024, 1024, 8192). I.e. minimum and preferred group size is 1024-bit, - OpenSSH server in kexgexs.c:kexgex_server processes this message and

[PATCH] curve25519-sha256@libssh.org key exchange proposal
Dear OpenSSH developers, I've worked this week on an alternative key exchange mechanism, in reaction to the whole NSA leaks and claims over cryptographic backdoors and/or cracking advances. The key exchange is in my opinion the most critical defense against passive eavesdropping attacks. I believe Curve25519 from DJB can give users a secure alternative to classical Diffie-Hellman (with fixed

how to inspect content of save file
Is there a way of listing the variables contained in a file created with the save() command other than load()ing the file? I have a couple of rather larger files that I would rather not load ... png and pdf : point size, font size, etc.
Hi, I am new to this mailing list. Didn`t find the answer in the archives. But I guess, there are people out there, who know the solution: In an automatic script, I want to produce simple plots. First I prefer pdf, because of scalability and standardization. But when I have too many datapoints (say 300.000) the viewing and printing is very, very slow. So I decided to take some bitmapped format

trouble with package mva on R 1.4.0
Dear List, although the library() command tells me that the pcakage "mva" is installed on my machine, I cannot use its functions or get help() about them. And, strange enough, I never installed the package manually. Has it become a part of R-base? I can't find the package among the package sources on CRAN, so I can't (re)install it manually. I'm using R 1.4.0. Can anyone

compiling a package on a pc - process is stalling
Hi, On a new pc, I am trying to 'CHECK' an R package containing only R code but the process is hanging and I cant see why. The 00check.log file shows * using log directory 'c:/temp/opRisk.Rcheck' * using R version 2.2.1, 2005-12-20 * checking for file 'opRisk/DESCRIPTION' ... OK * this is package 'opRisk' version '0.2' * checking if this is a source

Weird stalling of playback on IAX2 channels on 1.8 svn
I've hit an odd issue in a test 1.8 deployment, playback() stalls mid file. The call stays up, but asterisk stops sending packets. It doesn't always happen - but on demo-congrats it happens about half the time. It only happens in IAX calls. Anyone else experienced it ? (I filed an issue just in case it isn't just me) T. (CYGWIN) Rsync Stalling Upon first file transfer.
Rsync will recieve the file list, and discover the files to consider, and then stalls out on the first actual file transfered. 0 bytes 0kB/s. On the recieving server, the DLGDiagv504f.exe file is named .dlgdiagv504.f.exe.7dd0oa and is only 512 kb. The rsync process still runs after this, like it's in an idle mode. It's not just this file, its been a number of different files.

XEN server stalling .. problem spotted - solution required
Ok, I''ve been chasing this for many days .. I have a server running 10 instances that periodically freezes .. then sometimes "comes back." I tried many things to try to spot the problem and finally found it by accident. It''s a little frustrating as typically the Dom0 and One (or two) instances "go" and the rest carry on .. and there is diddley squat when it

stalling during delta processing
I have a 29 Gig full backup on a remote server (lets call if fedor) that is called Kbup_1. I have a 1.3 Gig incremental backup on my local server. I have rsync 2.6.2 on both servers. Both are RedHat Linux 9.1 on i-686 hardware platforms. I issue the command "time rsync -avv --rsh=rsh --stats /test/Kibbutz/Kbup_1 fedor://test/Kibbutz". The synch takes ~5 minutes of real time and about

File transfers to Windows XP x64 stalling and dying after a few minutes.
I just did a fresh install of Windows XP Professional x64 on my primary machine, and am reconnecting all of my LAN services. One thing I have on my home network is a dedicated file server, running Ubuntu and Samba, used as a general file server, as well as a backup for when I reformatted my main system. While attempting to restore some of my files, I started noticing some odd errors. After a
