A Problem : Can NOT install APT or Synaptic for v4.0
Hello,
There was no problem installing "APT" package in
CentOS 4.0 Beta, but so far I could not install
APT or Synaptic by "# yum install apt" or
by "# yum install synaptic" in a usual manner.
Is there any solution for this?
It seems to me, something is wrong only for these
two packages.
Regards.

cdrecord issues
I have an issue with cdrecord though and I can't figure it out. I use
Webmin, which basically just creates an iso and then uses cdrecord to
burn it and it worked fine with previously installed CentOS 4 (I wiped
and reinstalled about 8 months ago).
This is the command that Webmin tries to execute...
cdrecord -v dev=0,0,0 speed=4 -isosize \

Mac OS X R uninstallation question
Hi,
I've been using R for a number of years and have always installed the newest
version when released. However I've just noticed that old versions of R are
taking up quite a lot of disk space.

update from 4.2 to 4.3?
Hi List;
Whats the preferred method to update from 4.2 to 4.3? Can I use yum to do
this, If so, can someone send me the appropriate install or update command
string to pass to yum?
Also, Do I need to add any specific yum repositories or will the stock 4.2 yum
configuration work (assumint that yum is the best way to do the upgrade) ?
Thanks in advance for your help...

Puppet uses too much RAM memory
Hello,
I have two Vmware images, with 256MB of RAM memory each one, running
puppetmasterd for the server and puppetd for the client. It''s normal
that my puppetmasterd and puppetd occupies almost 10% of RAM memory
each one? They aren''t doing anything especial, just listening on the
ports.
Thanks.

[LLVMdev] C front-end news
Here are a few bits of news about the C frontend:
1. I have ported it to compile and run under linux. On our research
machines, it is available here:
/home/vadve/lattner/cvs/gcc_install_x86
Note that this C compiler will still generate "64-bit" LLVM files, thus
the code will probably not work right if run through the C backend,
then compiled on x86. For middle-end
