About sftp-server root path
Hi, I saw in archive that some people made a patch to sftp-server, and that patch sets a root path. I'd like to know if there's an ideia to apply that patch in main tree of openssh? With the use of SSHFS [wich uses sftp-server], it would be interesting to have someting like that, because as we have netboot workstations, the access to devices [such as, floppy, cdrom and usb data] are

the field ttl in struct referral doesn't work
In samba source code, the file "source\include\msdfs.h" defines a struct named referral. In this struct, there is a field named ttl which is used to decide how long should client cache referral, and this field uses constant REFERRAL_TTL(#define REFERRAL_TTL 600) as default. My problem is when i set REFERRAL_TTL to be 10, it doesn't work.

data in form of a date
Dear all, I often use dates and times in analyses. I just can't figure out how to format my date or time column in R. So, apparently R sees the date as something other than date (character). Let's say I am opening a CSV file, one of the columns of which is a date or time. How do I specify that when opening the file? Thanks for the help, Jim --

dump (PR#9282)
Full_Name: Ricardo Ehlers Version: 2.4.0 OS: Linux Submission from: (NULL) (200.138.34.134) The dump function is outputing something different from previous versions. For example > a <- c(1,2,3); dump('a',file='test') now results in `a` <- c(1,2) instead of "a" <- c(1,2) in the file 'test' This prevents using the bayesmix package and running JAGS

North Arrow (.png file) on a Map
Hi list. I would like to know how do I insert a North arrow, stored as a png file in my computer, in a map? I found lots of post asking similar things, one of them mentioned the pixmap package. The map was done using map() and shapefiles (the code is below). I’m using the pixmap () and addlogo() functions. Well I can import the png with pixmap() function (I guess, once there’s no error message),

try.Silent
In an email to the help list John Chambers wrote about the function helpSilent which is in the methods package, pointing out that there is no restrictive reason to be in this package. I did not know about this function and just incorporate it in several functions of the geoR package where a much less elegant solution was being used. I guess other packages could use it as well. Therefore,

multcomp::glht() doesn't work for an incomplete factorial using aov()?
Hi R users, I sent a message yesterday about NA in model estimates ( http://r.789695.n4.nabble.com/How-set-lm-to-don-t-return-NA-in-summary-td3722587.html). If I use aov() instead of lm() I get no NA in model estimates and I use gmodels::estimable() without problems. Ok! Now I'm performing a lot of contrasts and I need correcting for multiplicity. So, I can use multcomp::glht() for this.

ternary contour plot
Colin, If your propose is to create a ternary plot with points and vectors, I think easier do this with graphics based plots instead of trellis based plots. Although, with little work you can do with trellis too. I gave you a reproducible code to put an arrow in a ternary plot. I use the function locator() to extract coordinates. The code is the following

Lattice densityplot with semitransparent filled regions

My attempts I get something very near what I need, but I don't solve the problem of use semitransparent filled. Below a minimal reproducible code. Someone has any idea? require(lattice) # toy data... dt <- expand.grid(A=1:2, B=1:3, y=1:50) dt$y <- rnorm(nrow(dt), dt$B,
