[patch] Automatically add keys to agent
My keys are secured with a passphrase. That's good for security, but having to type the passphrase either at every login or at every invocation of ssh(1) is annoying. I know I could invoke ssh-add(1) just before invoking ssh(1), if I keep track of whether I invoked it already, or write some hacky scripts; but the rest of OpenSSH is wonderfully usable without any hacks. Hence, this patch.

Announce: Portable OpenSSH 7.1p2 released
OpenSSH 7.1p2 has just been released. It will be available from the mirrors listed at http://www.openssh.com/ shortly. OpenSSH is a 100% complete SSH protocol 2.0 implementation and includes sftp client and server support. OpenSSH also includes transitional support for the legacy SSH 1.3 and 1.5 protocols that may be enabled at compile-time. Once again, we would like to thank the OpenSSH

FIPS 140-2 OpenSSL(2007) patches
Hi, I am happy to (re)send a set of patches for compiling OpenSSH 4.7p1 with FIPS 140-2 OpenSSL. These are based on previously reported patches by Steve Marquess <marquess at ieee.org> and Ben Laurie <ben at algroup.co.uk>, for ver. OpenSSH 3.8. Note that these patches are NOT OFFICIAL, and MAY be used freely by anyone. Issues [partially] handled: SSL FIPS Self test. RC4,

[PATCH] fix %n expansion in LocalCommand
After the commit titled "expand %h to the hostname in ssh_config Hostname options" (2010-07-16), %n always got the same value as %h in the LocalCommand config option. LocalCommand problem for tunneling on Linux
I've been testing tunneling on Linux with openssh-SNAP-20060116.tar.gz and found a problem. When I use LocalCommand for doing ifconfig stuff, the command line was executed before a tunneling interface is opened. This causes errors on Linux and the interface is not automatically set up. This is not a problem on *BSD because you can do ifconfig for unopened tun/tap interfaces. But in Linux,

connect() timeout patch.
Hello all, I am wondering where one would submit a patch to OpenSSH cvs version? I have written a patch that allows the user to set a timeout the ssh clients connection attempt. I added this because many of us use ssh in automated scripts and in some cases machines may no longer be reachable, rather than wait you can set the timeout to say 3 seconds (-z switch). -- Larry Cashdollar

Dear all, Hi. This is imacat from Taiwan. I'm new to this list. I encountered the following failures when running "make tests" on machines that haven't install OpenSSH yet. It seems to fail at regress/multiplex.sh. It seems to specific to machines that haven't install OpenSSH yet. Once I have installed OpenSSH, the failure is gone. Might it be the case

[RFC][PATCH] Detect and handle PAM changing user name
I've implemented a patch to openssh which allows the PAM auth layer to detect if the PAM stack has changed the user name and then adjusts its internal data structures accordingly. (imagine a PAM stack that uses individual credentials to authenticate, but assigns the user to a role account). First, is the openssh community interested in this patch? Second, if there is interest in the patch,

Patch for SSH-tunneling via HTTPS-proxy
Hi List, I have a szenario where I need to reach a host on the internet from a "firewalled" network but there is a HTTPS-proxy runnnig. As some people know you can tunnel all TCP-connections through this proxy because it can't decide if someone is really doing SSL or just Telnet to port 443 (or use SSH in our case). So I've written a patch for ssh to make it send the CONNECT

ssh-agent security
ssh-agent is a great tool that is often misconfigured with respect to agent forwarding. How many people running ssh-agent and doing a ssh -A have the very same public keys in ~/.ssh/authorized_keys of the machine they are coming from? ssh(1) is very clear in its warning about enabling agent forwarding. The simple act of prompting the user before using the key would enable them to determine

[PATCH] Add an exit delay to Openssh-3.0.2p1 for use in tunneling
Here is a patch to implement an exit delay in OpenSSH-3.0.2p1, proposed by John Hardin. This is his description of the feature: New option for OpenSSH: Delay before exit. Command line option: -S delay Config file option: sleep {delay} Purpose: Wait the specified number of seconds after last traffic before dropping the connection and exiting. If ports are forwarded, this causes the ssh client

[PATCH] fix for Linux hang on exit bug in 2.9.9p2
As you are now probably aware, the portability team for openssh still has not fixed the hang-on-exit bug in the 2.9.9p2 release. Attached is a patch for 2.9.9p2 that fixes the hang-on-exit bug for Linux systems. It also adds a useful exit delay feature that has also not yet been incorporated into the main sources.
