bug in OpenSSH_4.3p2: pam_open_session() called but not close for root users
For root sessions pam_open_session is called, but not pam_close_session.
sshd behavior is broken for root logins because if pam session
is run from the child, close is never called due to exec:
on open
since use_privsep is not set, parent calls do_exec_pty(),
which does not open session. then, it skips calling do_setusercontext(),
so it does not open session.
child calls

OpenSSH_4.3p2 fails to create a pty session
I am out of ideas about what the problem is. I am using the default
sshd_config installed by the port. I can authenticate, copy files, and
start processes, but sshd fails to create a tty session. This happens
from remote machines and creating a session from the host machine. I
find the following under messages.

[HELP] Mongrel Needs a Patch Maven
Hey folks,
I''m falling behind in my Mongrel duties and seriously need to recruit an enterprising individual to take on the patch queue and help push out a new release with some minor fixes. The goal would be to just get patches that are currently languishing, pull them together, put them in the source, write some tests to try them, and then one slight design change.
If this works out

Illustrating kernel distribution in wheat ears
Dear all
R2.10 WinXP
I have a dataset dealing with the way different wheat cultivars build their yield.
Wheat ears are organised in spikelets where the spikelets can be numbered from the bottom, with even numbers on one side and odd on the other.
I know how many kernels there were in each spikelet after some months spent counting them...
Now I want to illustrate the differences between the

No more logs after SVN?
Hello,
Yesterday I "subversioned" my app using svn and now everything works fine except I don''t see any log entries in development.log?
What would cause the log entries to be not produced anymore?
Thanks

.Net Developer wants to volunteer at RoR project
Hi,
having read "my job went to india" I decided to quit programming within
the Microsoft environment and start something different...
So, is there any RubyOnRails project that in exchange for "reviving" me
needs a loyal (code) contributor?
Thanks in advance
Michael

Are all RC3 implementations identical?
I'm a loyal user of GoldWave (http://www.goldwave.com/), and recently the Ogg Vorbis support module has been updated to RC3.
Is it still safer for me to save files as WAV and then use the "official" tool (oggenc) to encode my files, or are all RC3 implementations the same, and it makes no difference with what program I encode the files, as long as the module uses the latest

Refused oplock on NFS mounted file system
Hi all,
I have been a loyal user of SAMBA since about 1996(?), and I recently
upgraded a RH linux based system from by skipping a few generations
and going directly from rh9 to FC5. Mostly everything is working,
but there is an issue I haven't worked out yet with SAMBA.
The main server here in our group has several shares, including some
that are mounted from other servers via nfs,

If(cond) statement
Why will this simple statement not work? I think I am following the
documentation for if(cond) statements, and I have tried wrapping the
cons.expr and alt.expr in {}, I get the same error. There is no example
in the help file, and this is not covered in the Introduction to R,
SimpleR or other tutorials I have looked into.

File permission problems
Hi knowledgeable samba users,
I had to upgrade from samba 2.2.0 on a suse linux server (7.2). Server died after two 2+ years of loyal services - otherwise I would not have changed...
Now I have a samba 3.0.9-2.6 on suse 9.1. I can access the files only r-x, i.e. all files appear as read only.
Trying to trouble shoot I have:
- chmod-ed all the files of all the shares to 777
- in swat put the

VirtualBox on CentOS 7 with bridged network not working
I've installed VirtualBox v5.2 on a CentOS 7.4 machine, but VMs set up
with bridged networking can not 'see' past the VirtualBox host machine
i.e. the VM can ping the host and vice versa, but the VM can not ping
anything else and other machines on the same subnet can't ping the VM
There are no firewall rules configured on the 7.4 host and selinux is
disabled
I have a similar

Make error installing bristuff-0.2.0-rc2b
Hi list!
I'm trying to install bristuff on a newly installed box. The box is
running a rebuild of RedHat Enterprise linux with the latest kernel. The
architecture of the box is x86_64 (Athlon 64), the os is 64 bit with 32
bit compat libs installed. Also the kernel source is installed as well as
the (kernel) development tools.
The bristuff install.sh script downloads asterisk+zaptel 1.0.2

New to CentOS, is this a safe bet?
I know this may be a stupid place to ask, but I have to ask. I'm looking
for a new Linux distro to use and support. I've been a loyal purchaser
of SuSE Linux Pro for the last 3 years. I've paid my $90 loyally, in
part because I wanted money to actually go to someone working on OSS,
but also because I thought it was a good bargain, to get a quality,
tested distro for that cost.

And now:

I hope this will be the last development release before 1.5.

* If you refer to Models::Base, however, ActiveRecord will be loaded
