auto_complete text field not showing drop-down box properly
This may be more of an Ajax question than a Rails question, but I''m
pretty new to Rails and know approximately zero JS. I''d love if
someone could give me a little direction.
I''m using pat shaughnessy''s nested text_field_with_auto_complete
plugin, and it seems to be *mostly* working properly (after many hours
of fiddling). However, the drop-down box is not

In the result of applying 'bquote' to function definition with 2 or more arguments, first function argument disappears (PR#14031)
Full_Name: Suharto Anggono
Version: 2.8.1
OS: Windows
Submission from: (NULL) (125.165.81.124)
Sorry for repost. There is already PR#9602, but the problem is still there.
There is also a post "Re: [R] using bquote to construct function" in R-help
2008-10-02.
This illustrates the problem.

[PATCH v2 1/2] daemon: add split_key_value_strings helper
Add a simple helper to turn a list of strings into key/value pairs,
splitting by '=', with the possibility to apply a function to unquote
values.
Add also a simple unquote function.

CentOS Linux updates released (RSS Feeds)
As you may or may not know, we do not have the ability to currently
announce CentOS Linux 8 announcements on the CentOS Annonuce Mailing
List.? We would like to add this in the future.? For now, what we do
have is an RSS feed for all updates that get released.
Use your favorite RSS Feed Tool (I use Thunderbird .. lots of other
things available).

R-code in html help pages: syntax highlighting
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
Hi,
A follow up to my previous post. It'd be good to have syntax
highlighting in the html help pages. There is highlight
(http://www.andre-simon.de/) which seems to be open source. Since code
is delimited in the help file format, it should not be too difficult
to run a highlighting program (actually, vim and emacs do this too)
recursively and

Effect.Highlight doesn''t return to original color with many elements?
Hi guys.
Most of the time, Effect.Highlight works just fine for me. However, when
I highlight a large number of elements, the color of those elements
never returns to the original color...
As an example, consider the code at the bottom of this post. Each
element starts to fade back to original, but stops short, leaving each
highlighted.
Anyone know what might be causing this, or what I

Question about event listener highlighting with child elements
I have created a JavaScript object which is initialized for some input
fields, fieldsets, and divs on the page. With each object i attach a
mouseover and mouseout event that highlights and un-highlights. Also on
mouseout i am trying to display the id of the object to a console. The
highlighting works except for cases when an object is the child of another
object. In this case both are highlighted

RE: Question about event listener highlighting withchild elements
1. Create a separate class that has your highlight/unhighlight behavior
in it, and extend just the element you want to highlight with that
class... like this (also allows you to easily apply this behavior
elsewhere when you need it in the future):
Object.extend(this.el, HighlightBehaviorClass.prototype)
2. When defining your event handlers, assign them to variables so you
have a

Problems with menu.c32,and some feature request for menu.c32
Well in those three days I did identify and correct the problem with using a number (0-9) as the hot key. The following is the section of code in menu.c32 responsible for displaying the menu entries:
display_entry(const struct menu_entry *entry, const char *attrib,
const char *hotattrib, int width)
{
const char *p = entry->displayname;
while ( width ) {
if ( *p ) {

phrase search highlighting
Hi
Some of my users are very "conservative" as it seems :)
The complained about "not finding anything useful", because the
highlighted sample
was wrongly colored when doing phrase search, e.g. "some word".
So they refused to use web search at all and keep telephoning around.
Not the found phrase was highlighted in one color, but all locations
of these words within

Which method to use to get content from index with a_a_f?
Hi everybody,
After staring at the a_a_f API for quite sometime now, I decided it''s
time to ask...
Which method should I use to get content from the index without using
highlight? Consider the following controller action:
def preview
if params[:search].blank? # normal case
@text = @myfile. # which method do I use here to get the :text from
the index???
else # if we come from

new bquote feature splice does not address a common LISP @ use case?
Hi Jan,
In the lisp code you provide the operators are parsed as simple
symbols in a pairlist. In the R snippet, they are parsed as
left-associative binary operators of equal precedence. If you unquote
a call in the right-hand side, you're artificially bypassing the
left-associativity of these operators.
To achieve what you're looking for in a general way, you'll need a

Support for user defined unary functions
William,
Unbeknownst to me when I sent this, Jonathon Carrol started a specific
thread about unquoting and a proposal for supporting it at the language
level, which I think is a better place to discuss unquoting specifically.
That said, the basics as I understand them in the context of non-standard
evaluation, unquoting (or perhaps interpolation) is essentially
substituting part of an unevaluated

Problems with menu.c32, and some feature request for menu.c32
I have found two bugs in the menu.c32 utility, part of the syslinux-3.08-pre5 build, and have a couple of requests.
Problem 1:
If you use the ^ symbol to define a number as a hotkey, ex. MENU LABEL ^1 Option #1 , the menu will not print the number highlighted. It will use it as a hot key, it just will not highlight it. It does highlight the hotkey if specify a letter, A-Z.
Problem 2:

Support for user defined unary functions
Bill,
Right. My example was the functional form for clarity.
There is a desire for a unary-operator form. (rlang's !! and !!! operators
described in the comments in the file I linked to). I can't really make
that argument because I'm not one of the people who wanted that. You'd have
to talk to the authors of the rlang package to find out their reasons for
thinking that is

another issue with highlighting
Hi,
I''m encountering another highlighting issue.
(about the first one "range search and highlighting", i received no
response. I don''t even know if somebody tried to reproduce and/or if
it''s normal behavior)
about the new issue, an example will be easier for you to reproduce:
I''m filling an index with random data, i try to match for "*1*"

Highlighint rjs problem on a new product
Hi,
Problem Summary:
I have been trying to add the highlight effect to my table but
everytime a new record is added the highlighting gives an rjs error.
However when i click the add to cart button on a product that already
exists inside the table, the highlight effect works. Is this because
the partial must only have only one <tr></tr> in it and the <table>
must be on the other
