SElinux AVC signull
Hi Leon,
I don't have access to a CentOS 6.10 system handy, but it looks like a
policy issue. If I take you're ausearch output and pipe it to
audit2allow on my CentOS 7.6 system, I get the following:
#============= httpd_t ==============
#!!!! This avc is allowed in the current policy
allow httpd_t httpd_sys_script_t:process signull;
Noting that on my 7.6 system with selinux enforcing

SElinux and Samba
Ok, so there is not a problem with SElinux and Samba. But it is a
pain to set up so it will work right. I finally figured out how to
set up SE and Samba so you can be able to write and delete files.
I found in one of that man pages "man samba_selinux", you can just
disable SE for samba. I am sure there are other ways also but this
is what I have found so far. I tried to just

selinux allow apache log access
Hey guys,.
I have a centos 7 machine I'm using as a zabbix server. And I noticed that
apache won't start, with this complaint in the error log:
(13)Permission denied: AH00091: httpd: could not open error log file
/var/log/zabbix_error_log.
AH00015: Unable to open logs
I tried having a look at audit2allow and this is the response I get back:
[root at monitor2:/etc/httpd] #grep http

distributing selinux policy module
Using audit2allow, I was able to create a policy module for
selinux:
audit2allow -i /var/log/audit/audit.log -M mysqld
(creates mysqld.pp and mysqld.te)
I want to distribute this to all my puppet clients.
I can easily put this file in
/etc/selinux/targeted/modules/active/modules
But even after reboot, although I can see the module listed:
semodule -l
... it doesn''t seem to actually

Google search reveals a number of Fedora issues with
similar errors dating back a few years; most of which seem
to have something to do with package ownership.

puppet files denied by SELinux
Hey folks,
Ok so I'm having another issue with SELinux. However I think I'm pretty
close to a solution and just need a nudge in the right directtion.
I wrote a puppet module that gets systems into bacula backups. Part of the
formula is to distribute key/cert pairs with permissions that allow bacula
to read them so that bacula can talk to the host over TLS. It's pretty
slick, I must

CentOS 7, Fail2ban and SELinux
Hi,
I'm running CentOS 7 on an Internet-facing server. SELinux is in permissive
mode for debugging. I've removed FirewallD and replaced it with a custom-made
Iptables script. I've also installed and configured Fail2ban (fail2ban-server
package) to protect the server from brute force attacks.
Out of the box, Fail2ban doesn't seem to play well with SELinux. Here's what I

CentOS 7 : SELinux trouble with Fail2ban
Hi,
Some time ago I had SELinux problems with Fail2ban. One of the users on this
list suggested that it might be due to the fact that I'm using a bone-headed
iptables script instead of FirewallD.
I've spent the past few weeks getting up to date with doing things in a more
orthodox manner. So currently my internet-facing CentOS server has a nicely
configured NetworkManager, and

SELinux and "i_stream_read() failed: Permission denied"
Not a problem ... sharing a solution (this time)! Please correct my
understanding of the process, if required.
"i_stream_read() failed: Permission denied" is an error message generated
when a large-ish file (>128kb in my case) is attached to a message that
has been passed to Dovecot's deliver program when SELinux is being
enforced.
In my case, these messages are first run

CentOS-6 SSHD chroot SELinux problem
I run a sshd host solely to allow employees to tunnel secure
connections to our internal hosts. Some of which do not support
encrypted protocols. These connections are chroot'ed via the
following in /etc/ssh/sshd_config

AllowTcpForwarding yes
ChrootDirectory /home/yyyyy
X11Forwarding yes
Where external users belong to group yyyyy (primary).

Odd SELinux messages during+after 5.3 upgrade (system_mail_t and postfix_postdrop_t access rpm_var_lib_t)
Hey guys,
I've been getting some strange selinux messages after the 5.3 upgrade.
It appears as though my mail system (postfix) is constantly trying to
access the rpm database? Here's the audit messages (I tend to look at
my selinux messages using audit2allow < /var/log/audit.log as I find
it easier to read quickly):

needed to use zfs (zfsonlinux) benefit features). Problem is that
