openssh 2.3.0p1: chan_read_failed for istate 8
Hallo all! I''ve found a repeatable problem concerning openssh 2.3.0p1 running on a Linux-box with kernel 2.2.17. I compiled ssh from sources with pam-support. Let me describe what I''m doing: rsync -e ssh --delete --exclude "/Daten/test*" --exclude /Daten/anonymous --exclude /Daten/comp_logs --exclude /Daten/ehemalige_rwgsysm/cache

internal error: we do not read, but chan_read_failed
Hello, The error message in the subject line occurs with the new 2.3.0 openssh version and appeared in the previous snapshots on our Solaris systems. As far as I remember it was reported, but have not seen any more about this. I have looked into it a little bit. First, the file session.c (line 1849 onwards): debug("session_exit_message: release channel %d", s->chanid);

Error messages after upgrading to OpenSSH_4.6p1
Hi, I have upgraded the openssh (OpenSSH_4.6p1) on Solaris 8 server. After upgrading I am getting the below error messages when we execute the commands in remote systems using ssh. However the ssh works fine without any issue. Please let me know is there is any fix for it. Apr 2 03:05:39 hostname sshd[7294]: [ID 800047 auth.info] Accepted publickey for user from xx.xx.xx.xx port 32808

Agent Forwarding Anomalies on OpenBSD 3.3/OpenSSH 3.6.1
I have a curious situation with four OpenBSD 3.3 hosts. Each of these has public/private keys on each other for inter-host authentication using RSA2 keys. For instance, they''re called hostA-to-hostBCD, hostB-to-hostACD, hostC-to-hostABD, and hostD-to-hostABC. The sshd_config files, on each host, look as follows... #; #; /etc/ssh/sshd_config #; Port 22

ProxyCommand and ExitOnForwardFailure = leftover process
Hi, I''m having a small problem when using ProxyCommand and ExitOnForwardFailure in combination with OpenSSH 5.1 under Ubuntu 8.04. In order to enable multihop scp and port forwarding, I have enabled automatic public key authenticated tunneling from hostA to hostC via hostB using ProxyCommand in my private .ssh/config file on hostA. <end of .ssh/config>: host hostB

[PATCH] openssh pseudo-terminal bug
hello short description: ssh client sends a wrong all-zero terminal info when requesting forced pseudo-terminal allocation while stdin is not a terminal. sshd then sets the terminals ospeed to 0 because it receives this information from the client. on solaris this means that the pseudo-terminal is closed and output of any remote command is dropped. longer description: what we''re doing

openssh-2.3.0p1 fails to transport rsync
Hi, I had previously noticed some peculiar log entries of the form error: error: channel 0: internal error: we do not read, but chan_read_failed for istate 8 in my logs. They were harmless as far as I was concerned. I checked the list archives, where the same logs have been reported and no solution was presented. Recently I tried to use rsync over ssh for backup purposes. The remote end

Argument processing with sftp
Greetings, One aspect of the recent sftp renovation which I don''t recall being discussed is its command-line argument processing. In particular, the command-line syntax supports retrieving a file as follows: $ sftp hoastA:file1 file2 But it does not support a similar syntax to send a file. In other words, $ sftp file1 hostA:file2 is not currently supported. Moreover, the following

ifconfig hw ether and -arp
Hi, Just thought I''d mention that I spent a while battling with tinc today. I had quite a weird behaviour - in routing mode, tinc would come up fine on both hosts, but pinging hosta from hostb wouldn''t work until hosta pinged hostb. I''ve used an earlier version of tinc before in a different environment with no problems, and vaguely remembered a more complicated tinc-up

Live migration fails depending on on the kernel Version of DomU
Hi, I''m running a two node xen-Cluster with CentOS 5.3. I''m using gfs2 for the cluster filesystem and kernel 2.6.18-128.1.6.el5xen #1 SMP for Dom0 (xen 3.0.3). Live migration works fine as long as the DomU guest is running CentOS 5.3 or SLC 4.7 with kernel version 2.6.9-55.EL.cern. But if the SLC 4.7 guest is running the current 2.6.9-78.0.17.EL.cern kernel, the migration
