rsync is fantastic except for one usual feature we want from it .. please help ?
Hi,
Rsync is a fantastic program, and it does everything we need in terms of
file transfer and syncing source and destination file directories.
We do have a situation now where we need rsync to transfer the files
once only from the source directory. Please let me briefly explain
using a simple generic exmple:
1. At t0, we transfer f0 location A to location B
2. At t1, 10 new

Sweave/margin
Hi!
I am currently using Sweave for writing my bachelor thesis - and I have a
problem:
I am using a LaTeX style (report) with quite big margin spaces. The Sweave
generated LaTeX code "floats" into the margin - and it looks ugly. The text
is blocked and fine... then there comes some flattering code running over
the margin... and blocked text again.
Considering the LaTeX output, I guess

Memory limit for Windows 64bit build of R
Dear all
I have a Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise machine, with 64bit R installed
running on 2 x Quad-core Intel Xeon 5500 processor with 24GB DDR3 1066 Mhz
RAM. I am seeking to analyse very large data sets (perhaps as much as
10GB), without the addtional coding overhead of a package such as
bigmemory().
My question is this - if we were to increase the RAM on the machine to
(say) 128GB,

IAX2 Question (Asterisk 1.4 tarball)
I've got IAX2 setup between two servers with this config:
I have two servers on a switch: asteriskm is 192.168.0.160 and asterisk1 is
192.168.0.161 asteriskm has a Sangoma T1 card in it. I want to route calls
from asteriskm to asterisk1 which will run an AGI IVR for the call.
Config is below, but my problem is that 90-95% of the time when I start
asterisk on the two servers I get the

NT and XP clients cannot reach Samba PDC
When attempting to join my domain, the NT 4 Workstation and XP Pro
clients cannot contact the domain controller. The Samba server is
running normally, and can be connected to via IP address, but not by
name. Additionally, when I set up a DNS, it still could not contact
the Samba server. The clients and server are on the same subnet.
I have read as much as I could find on configuring Samba as a

Weird Network issue
Hi all:
I am pretty new to xen, but ,thanks to you, I am learning fast :)
I have a Dell Poweredge 2950 server running Debian Lenny as Dom0 named Asgard
I have configured three DomU (Loki, Hermod and Thor) with DHCP support.
All the machines (Dom0 and DomU''s) ask for an IP address to a DHCP server in the
Office LAN.
The DHCP server is configured to bind certain IP addresses to the Dom0

help with syslinux config
I'm feeling really stupid here.... I seem to be missing something about the
syslinux config file. I'm booting a workstation via pxelinux. Everything
is cool, life is great, but I seem to be missing something about the config
file. I have:
display menu.dpy
timeout 35000
default netboot
label netboot
kernel vmlinuz.nfs
append root=/dev/nfs nfsroot=10.1.1.4:/home/image/1

ipappend in pxelinux
I've just gotten pxelinux working (very cool) to boot a Dell PowerEdge.
Everything is great, except for one bit. I turned on the IPAPPEND option,
and when the machine boots (configured for nfs-root, IP kernel-level
autoconf with no options) it says: "ip-config: incomplete network
configuration information".
According to the syslinux.doc file, the ipappend option appends a line to

Large file freezes, OpenBSD + WinXP x64
I've been struggling with this for a while, and though it worked for
about five minutes Sunday night, it's been a no-go ever since I built my
server last summer. What I've got:
Samba (samba): OpenBSD 4.2-STABLE, samba-3.0.25b (from packages)
Laptop (osiris): WinXP SP2
Desktop (isis): WinXP x64 SP2
I can copy/move anything and everything between samba and laptop. I can

openssh 3.8.1p1 problem on SCO 5.0.7
On SCO 5.0.7 and openssh 3.8.1p1, two entries are written to /etc/wtmp
and /etc/wtmpx each time a user logs in via ssh. This can be
demonstrated using the last(C) command. Any user connected via ssh will
have two identical login and logout entries.
On SCO, login_write() in loginrec.c calls both wtmp_write_entry() and
wtmpx_write_entry() (USE_WTMP and USE_WTMPX are defined).
wtmp_write_entry()

Validation Reflection plugin
The validation reflection plugin adds three things
(1) Reflective access to validations
- ModelClass.reflect_on_all_validations
- ModelClass.reflect_on_validations_for(:property)
(2) It provides "declarative" methods for defining
validations based on database metadata
- validates_presence_of_mandatory_content_columns
- validates_lengths_of_string_attributes

no need for DB reflection when using config.active_record.schema_format = :ruby ?
Hi.
I''ve not seen anything on this so thought I''d put forward the idea and
see if it has any merit, or is already in practice.
When using migrations with config.active_record.schema_format = :ruby
(ruby as the canonical DB definition) it seems there would be no need
to query the database itself to determine its structure; it would
already be known.
This might have some good

[LLVMdev] LLVM JIT and Java Reflection style calls
This is probably another beginners type question but I am researching the use of the LLVM JIT for implementing a language where the main form of interprocedural call is similar to method invocation in Java's reflection mechanism.
Is such a thing easily implementable with the current LLVM JIT?
Thanks in advance,
Carter.

RTSP reflection.
Hi
Where do I find instruction to configure icecast as a reflect server for
rtsp?
Scenario:
Client1 sends audio to IceCast via rtsp
Client2 receives audio from IceCast via rtsp.
I need to just setup this behaviour..

has_one :through NoMethodError: undefined method `klass' for nil:NilClass when doing class_name on reflection
Not sure if this is expected or not. Only happened with a has_one :through
I had setup. (Workaround is just to remove it and go through the
association manually vs has_one ..., through: .)
Not a big deal if no one has time to look at it, as it''s not a big enough
deal to look into a fix on our side.
In Rails (3.2.9) console if I do:

Relationship and reflection
Hello,
I have a question.
I would like to know if there is a way with the reflection and
respond_to? to know if there is a relationship between tables.
When I say that I mean if inside a model there is a Has_many or
belongs_to declaration. Because I try to get this information
dynamically, during the execution of a script.
If someone has an idea even if it''s not with the reflection,
