zlib compression, the exploit, and OpenSSH
Attached is a zlib advisory and a debug dump of ssh with compression enabled. Most of the debug is superflous, so I have underlined the two points to look at. When creating an ssh connection, compression on the line is done *before* authentication -- This means an unauthorized attacker could, conceivable, leverage root access by connecting with to the ssh server requesting zlib compression and

PATCH: Round 2: RH initscripts backward compatibility
I've cleaned up Pekka Savola's newly revised sshd.init and additional sshd-functions and modified them to work they way i've been arguing they should work. Compatibility functions are defined in ./contrib/redhat/sshd-functions, which should get installed no matter what release of Red Hat Linux OpenSSH is getting built for, to be consistent across releases. Any more details on Lance? (just curious; no pressure)
A friend of mine sent me this link: http://linux.slashdot.org/story/09/07/30/130249/CentOS-Project-Administrator-Goes-AWOL I went to the main page and read the letter and the "Facts." Are there any more details, mainly along the lines of CentOS sticking around - I know you folks all work really hard on this, and you know better than me how many others depend on you - but - there's

Here is an example illustrating my problem 1.I do a linear regression as follows summary(lm(n.day13~n.day1+ffemale.yell+fmale.yell+fmale.chroma,data=surv)) which gives some nice sig. results Coefficients:

Procmail patch for dovecot delivery
Hello! As discussed in the previous thread about "Dovecot deliver logging problem and procmail" I have made a small patch for procmail to deliver through dovecot's deliver program (or any other delivery program). So Procmail does not write the mailboxes directly any more. So delivery is done through pipes and an external program which can deliver the files. Since dovecot's

Illegal Characters in filename
Hi all, We are sharing directories from Windows 2003 server to, among other things, Mac computers. Most of the time the windows shares work perfectly. However we are running into a problem with users entering odd characters into file names on the Mac clients. The Mac clients see these files/folders perfectly fine, as samba on the Mac allows for these odd characters. However, if someone tries
