This is my first time installing ssh and I am getting the following error:

openssh / prngd unresolved bug since 2002, need help
Hello,
I apologize if this is the wrong list. It was the list I was directed
towards. I have reviewed the archives as well as everything I could
google before posting. Any help is most appreciated:

That last line generates the error message:

Installing opensshd on Sun Cobalt Linux, shell interpreter issue
I have just installed openssh on my Sun Cobalt Qube, running Linux.
The shell interpreter for the rc script forces /sbin/sh. This is defined
in opensshd.init.in. This shell does not exist on this implementation of
Linux. I have written about this in (much more) detail at
http://blogs.sun.com/roller/page/DaveLevy/20060104. NB This would seem
to me to be a common problem but I havn't found

[Need help] sshd cannot work on mips-sony-bsd
Hi,
I tried openssh on my SONY NEWS-OS 4.2.1R which is 4.3BSD based
system.
I modified a little(*) to compile openssh and the compilation was
successful. Ssh worked but sshd didn't work.
I checked the output of 'sshd -d'. It says
error: open /dev/tty failed - could not set controlling tty: No such device or address
when connected from remote host (FreeBSD 5-current) with ssh. And

I need to be able to turn off host checking entirely
I have a small LAN. The entire system is within my view - all the
hosts, the switch and the wire. If someone is in a a position to do a
"man in the middle" attack, there's no need - they already have me.
Over the other side of the room, and beside my desk, I have test
systems. I use disk caddies (see www.vipower.com for examples) and can
switch operating systems in about the

ECDSA and first connection; bug?
Folks,
I read the 5.7 release announcement and updated, to try out ECDSA. Most
parts worked very smoothly. The inability to create SSHFP records is
understandable, since IANA haven't allocated a code yet.
One apparent bug: I think StrictHostKeyChecking=ask is broken for ECDSA.

FYI: SSH1 now disabled at compile-time by default
No, I just think 15 years or so is more than enough time to have
addressed the issue.
