OpenSSH public key problem with Solaris 10
Hi ya'll- I've got this odd openssh problem with Solaris 10 I was hoping someone could shed some light on. Not sure if it is a bug... Basically I'm trying to use pubkeys as an auth method, but am having issues. I can log in using passwords no problem, but as soon as it notices a matching public key it closes the connection. I ran the sshd server (on Solaris 10 box) in debug

Query live connections?
Hi All, I was hoping someone would know the answer to this question I had... I know the rsync daemon has the "Max connections" module, which works great. However, I was wondering if there was a good way for me to: 1: Query rsync to get the number of live connections it thinks it has? 2: Or better yet, how does rsync itself check for the number of connections? I'm trying to

I'm making the change to a new OS
Decided to upgrade to 7.x. It's been a good ride 6.x, but you're living in the past. Everything is backed up, just waiting on my new 4TB HD to arrive for a fresh install. See ya'll on the other side!!

what is the best codec for low bandwidth? for quality?
The number of codecs is overwhelming to me. What do ya'll consider the best codec for conserving bandwidth? [I realize at the cost of quality] Secondly, what do you think the best codec for voice quality is? Yours, Matthew

High Speed WAN Rsync now possible!!!
Folks- Just wanted to plug a totally awesome software package from a group I know: UDR (UDT Enabled Rsync). For those not familiar with UDT, it is a low level network protocol based on UDP that allows for high speed transfers over high latency WAN networks: http://udt.sourceforge.net/ For a while the UDT API was available, developed by the Laboratory for Advanced Computing at the

VoicePulse Connect Problems
Just a quick couple of questions for ya'll. 1) Does anyone know if VoicePulse Connect will be supporting dtmf tones? I have had a terrible time getting a hold of anyone over there, and I need this functionality before I can migrate to * completely. 2) Are there currently any problems with inbound DID's? Everything is setup properly in *, but I am not able to receive inbound calls,

remote access info please
Hi ya'll, I built a new CentOS 5.1 server for a client, housing a Lotus Notes / Domino server, and various other virtualized IBM software server guests, and soon will have to physically move that server to another distant location. My question is that I will need secure access to those servers via X, not just the C/L terminal. What do you recommend for a good secure CentOS program which

mail/access revisited
A while back, I posted a note asking if anyone had any ideas why the /etc/mail/access file was not being parsed or utilized in the efforts to stop spam and junk mail. I just looked over things again, and have still not found any reason why it still permits the TLD's I have listed to pass thru. I also thought perhaps there might be some "upper limit" to the number of entries

Data transformation & cleaning
Hi, I have a few methodological and implementation questions for ya'll. Thank you in advance for your help. I have a dataset that reflects people's preference choices. I want to see if there's any kind of clustering effect among certain preference choices (e.g. do people who pick choice A also pick choice D). I have a data set that has one record per user ID, per preference choice.

Random Timeouts?
Hi All, I was hoping someone could help me figure out what['s going on here... I have a server that I'm using to backup a lot of files to, and I'm using rsync to back them up. The backup server runs CentOS 5.4 Linux: # uname -a Linux slurp.kilokluster.ucsc.edu 2.6.18-164.15.1.el5 #1 SMP Wed Mar 17 11:30:06 EDT 2010 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux and so do the servers the rsync

Odd behavior
Hi Y'all, I'm seeing some interesting behavior that I was hoping someone could shed some light on. Basically I'm trying to rsync a lot of files, in a series of about 60 rsyncs, from one server to another. There are about 160 million files. I'm running 3 rsyncs concurrently to increase the speed, and as each one finishes, another starts, until all 60 are done. The machine

Cisco + Asterisk list anyone?
I have been working with a couple companies who are interested in integrating Cisco VoIP (mostly call manager express) but utilizing Asterisk for AA, VM, failover trunks etc. I have found some materials and guidance out there but I think a list and/or wiki for general asterisk integration with other vendors would be great and feel that it is enough off topic that it deserves its own space. (un)selectable folders
Hi ya'll I'm using dovecot 0.99.11 and I have a doubt about some folders. The Inbox folder is greyed out on most of my clients, and I just cannot move any message (on other folders) into inbox. I'd like to know if I can do that. Besides that, when I select the Drafts folder I get the "Mailbox isn't selectable" warning, and cannot save any drafts there so, how could I

chron and R 2.8
has anyone had problems with the upgrade to R 2.8 and chron date classes. I have a large zoo object that has a chron index, and it is taking 5x or so longer to do the same calculation as with 2.7 if it doesn't fail. I will provide anything necessary I am not entirely sure what ya'll would need if anything to try and reproduce the behavior. I am using the package StreamMetabolism. thanks

Installing the Zoo Library.
Hi Ya'll I'm trying to install the zoo library... I've downloaded about 5 or 6 of their releases (inc. the latest one), all of them giving me the same syntax error when trying to install... Anyone seen this problem before? its not the "lib" argument that is the problem (ive been installing other packages using this exact format with no problem... just zoo is the problem.
