Question on randomization
Hi , I am using OpenSSH4.3p2. One of the fixes in this release says that random seed generation is not necessary for each key generation and initial seed will be served for the re-exec'ed processess. As better random seed will yield better random number generation, how can we achieve true randomization by one time random seed ? Thanks, Ponraj M

Managesieve problem
Trying to get either avelsieve or server side filters to work with managesieve. Managesieve is running but whenever avelsieve or the server settings backend try to talk to it the same thing happens. So I guess it's really a problem with something about managesieve at this point. I hit the Message Filters option, it takes a long time for it to come back, though it finally just times out and

Using idmap_rid backend, cannot browse home directory from XP
Samba version is 3.0.10 on Gentoo linux. I am trying to use idmap_rid backend in a Windows AD environment, the Linux PC acting only as a domain member. I am using idmap_rid because I need UID/GID predictability. I can log in to console correctly, and it shows the right user and the "Domain Users" as the group. When I use default winbind TDB, I can browse the home directory from an XP

rsync crashing under centos 4
the rsync in centos 4 (a recompile of rhel4) is version 2.6.3. and under certain circumstances it will segfault when run in daemon mode. i have tracked it down to the nss code in libc. so this could be a general libc bug, but it is possible that rsync is doing things that don't help matters any. the problem manifests when you have chroot mode on (which seems to be the default), have

Since that time the random problem has persisted so I turned on some debugging. I have been able to determine that somehow her account idmap is broken. Here is the entry for my wife's SID as found in the idmap.ldb file

Is there anyother alternatives ? -- Thanks M.P
