Cygwin OpenSSH 5.1 login session per user
I'm using Cygwin OpenSSH 5.1 on a Windows XP SP3 system. Is sshd supposed to create a new "login session" for each user that logs in? Or, is there a way to force it to create a new "login session" for each user that logs in? Once logged in, I'm trying to use the Kerberos for Windows command line utilities (klist/kinit), but I'm told by one of the KfW

ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host
I'm randomly getting the following error on a server from various remote hosts: ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host The server is running OpenSSH 4.5p1 w/GSSAPI Key Exchange patch. The hosts connecting to it should all be using OpenSSH 5.0p1 w/GSSAPI Key Exchange patch and using gssapi-keyex authentication. Normally, when I've seen this error, it means

Need help with GSSAPI authentication
Client: Windows XP pro, in an AD 2003 domain, running SecureCRT 4.1.11. I've also got MIT Kerberos for Windows installed on the client, and Leash shows that my tickets ARE forwardable. Server: Solaris 8 Sparc server, with MIT Kerberos (krb5-1.4.1), and OpenSSH 4.0p1. I've created two AD accounts, and extracted keys mapped to "host/hostname.domainname.com at REALM.COM" and

[PATCH] Support GSS-SPNEGO natively
I cooked this up while trying to figure out why thunderbird on Windows w/ SSPI was not working, but it turned out thunderbird does not use it, so I haven't been able to test it yet. I'm presenting it for discussion only, unless someone else can try it :) Modern versions of MIT kerberos support GSS-SPNEGO natively, but are only willing to negotiate for kerberos tickets and not NTLM

SSH SSO without keytab file
Hai, Lets start here. Handy for us to know. OS? Samba version? AD or member setup? And I suggest, set this in the ssh server. # GSSAPI options GSSAPIAuthentication yes Restart the ssh server and try to SSO login. If its a AD server this should work. Yes, you dont get home dir etc, end up in / after login, but lets check if this works. Greetz, Louis > -----Oorspronkelijk

GSSAPI Key Exchange Patch
Will Simon Wilkinson's GSSAPI Key Exchange patch ever be incorporated into the OpenSSH source? http://www.sxw.org.uk/computing/patches/openssh.html I'm sure I'm not the only one that uses it and would like to see it become part of the OpenSSH source. Is there something missing or is there some technical/philosophical reason for not including it?

Is possible? --- reposting + new
Hi. I'm trying to find a solution for our windows clients. I will explain my situation. We have kerberos 5 (mit) kdc, openafs without kaserver (authentication using kerberos), openldap, everything on debian stable servers. What do our unix/linux clients do? They authenticate over kerberos (pam), gain tickets and consequently gain the afs token (krb5afs or openafs_session), call ldap and

How do I get an ssh client to authenticate with samba4's kerberos GSSAPI?
Hi, I am doing some kerberos testing with samba4 using ssh. I have setup samba4 using the howto at http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba4/HOWTO and active directory seems to be working both with Windows and Linux clients. ssh unfortunately is not kerberos authenticating via GSSAPI. The client krb5.conf contains this: ===================================================== [libdefaults]

Move servers public/private keys to a new host
Is it possible to move a server's public and private keys from one host to another? Or perhaps a better way to ask what I really want... is it possible to configure a server on a new host to return the same public key it did on the old host? I'm in the process of migrating our CVS server from a Solaris host to a Linux host (this weekend) and I just realized the hostkey is going to

I have a CentOS 7 system and when I login with putty or ssh there is a long delay before I get the password prompt. I ran ssh -v and I found that it gets up to this: debug1: ssh_ecdsa_verify: signature correct debug1: SSH2_MSG_NEWKEYS sent debug1: expecting SSH2_MSG_NEWKEYS debug1: SSH2_MSG_NEWKEYS received debug1: SSH2_MSG_SERVICE_REQUEST sent debug1: SSH2_MSG_SERVICE_ACCEPT received and then

SSH login between servers still asking for password, why?
I have two servers identified as `server-1 - 192.168.3.128` and `server-2 - 192.168.3.130`. I am setting up `capifony` for automatic deployment from server-1 to server-2 and this is what I have done so far: 1. In both servers I have created a user `deploy` without password since that's the user I will use for deployment. 2. In server-1 I setup a SSH keys by running the command:

Winbind, Kerberos, SSH and Single Sign On
Hi, at first I'm not sure if this is the correct list to ask this question. But since I'm using winbind I hope you can help me. I try to realize a kerberized ssh from one client to another. Both clients are member of subdom2.subdom1.example.de and joined to it. The users are from example.de, where subdom1.example.de is a subdomain (bidirectional trust) of example.de and

Failure to Launch (was override -q option)
Attached is the very verbose ssh output. Just to be perverse, this time two nodes lost connectivity. The only thing I see is lines saying that the two connections are lost, although being honest I have no idea what everything else means. For reference, 8 ssh cinnections were being made at the same time for a 8x8mpi task. N.B., since the OS I am using does not have rsh, I am currently using the

Samba File Server with 2 NICs, only one is used
Hello all, We have a Mandrake 10.1 server with Samba 3.0.13. The box has 2 NICs, 2 IPs and our DNS servers have both entries (same name for 2 IPs). Since kerberos is not working around here (tried to fix it for about 3 weeks, then gave up) I found my workaround: I use NetBIOS alias for my server, all clients use this alias for samba access and they authenticate thgrough SSPI. My problem is that
