tcpd anomaly
Salve,
I''m protecting hades with the tcpd wrappers and had no problems so far,
at least none that I noticed.
Today happend something strange. An attacker got a connect on a

sshd blocks SIGALRM
Gidday everbody,
We have just found an interesting issue regarding the sshd daemon on our
SuSE system. For some reasons, the /usr/sbin/sshd process blocks SIGALRM as
shown in the /proc/pid/status:
$ cat /proc/`cat /var/run/sshd.init.pid`/status

State: S (sleeping)

nearly-tickless-tinc
Hi,
tinc has a fixed timeout of 1 second for select() in the main
loop. I think this could be improved. Do you think the following
patch goes into the right direction ?
I don't know whether pselect() is standard enough (works under
"current" linux, however I don't know about the other arches). Maybe
a config option is necessary.
It's probably possible

Problem with TCP_wrappers
Hi,
I''m running into something weird here.
I''m using RH5.1 with tcp_wrappers 7.6.
The syntax for hosts.allow and hosts.deny is:
<service list> : <access list> [ : <shell_command> ]
Everything works when I _don''t_ use the shell_command.
I used the _exact_ line as in the man-pages utilising "safe_finger" (comes
with tcp_wrappers), tcpdchk

OpenSSH + Solaris + AFS ???
Hello *,
sorry if i missed an article which already solves my problem.
I need a working configuration of OpenSSH for Solaris 7 (SunOS 5.7)
with AFS support. PAM support to use the AFS PAm module `pam_afs.so'
and TCP-Wrapper support would be nice.
It would be nice to have similar configurations for Solaris 6
(SunOS 5.6), Solaris 8 (SunOS 5.8) and Solaris 2.5.1.
I have tested a few

[PATCH v6] hivexml: Add byte run reporting functions
This patch adds value_byte_runs and node_byte_runs. Each byte run
represents the offset and length of a data structure within the hive,
one per node, and one or two per value depending on the length of the
value data.
These byte run functions also add additional data sanity checks as a
hive is being parsed, mainly checking that a node address actually
points to a node, and similarly for values.

[Hivex] [PATCH v3] Report last-modified time of hive root and nodes
The infrastructure for modified-time reporting has been essentially
unused. These changes report the registry time by treating the
time fields as Windows filetime fields stored in little-Endian
(which means they can be treated as a single 64-bit little-Endian
integer).
This patch adds to the hivex ABI:
* int64_t hivex_last_modified (hive_h *)
* int64_t hivex_node_timestamp (hive_h *,

Hello everybody!!!
First of all I must say that I'm not an English speaker, so this text may sound
a little extrange. I apollogize.....
Well, I'm having problems with the SMB printing system. I have spent a lot of time
(nearly 15 hours and a houndred of configurations) in it but I could not use it as
a printing server.

xinetd v. tcp-wrappers
I am interested in opinions regarding the use of xinetd versus
the use of tcp wrappers. The two programs have similar functionality,
but I find xinetd suits my needs better.
The biggest problem is the age of xinetd, and AFAIK it is no longer
being kept up. Are there any known security issues with xinetd?
Another issue is that xinetd makes use of a non-standard inetd.conf
layout, but

[LLVMdev] setjmp - longjmp
That code should do it, but I realized you only detect setjmp functions by
name. My code is calling "__sigsetjmp" not "segsetjmp". You only support
these functions:
static const char *ReturnsTwiceFns[] = {
"_setjmp",
"setjmp",
"sigsetjmp",
"setjmp_syscall",
"savectx",
"qsetjmp",

[LLVMdev] setjmp - longjmp
Hi,
I have some code which has sigsetjmp / longjmp. After a longjmp, unreachable
is inserted, which is fine. The problem is that in the backend before
calling longjmp, some register was spilled to a stack location which is live
across the jmp. I mean, it will be live after jumping. The stack location
was initialized before the call to setjmp, and is used afterwards.
Is there any bug in handling

Can't get hpa-tftpd working on Slackware 9.1
Hi,
I have a question on tftpd on Slackware - I know this is an embedded
Linux forum, but I think it still must be the appropriate place to ask.
I have hpa-tftpd V0.40 on Slackware 9.1. No matter what I do, I can't
get files transferred to the tftp server. I just get timeouts - no
messages
in /var/log/messages or in /var/log/syslog - just dealthly silence.

I've attached a patch fixing this issue but I'm not convinced this is the right way to do it.
