configure.ac: typos in Ultrix and NewsOS sections
Hi all. Bernhard Simon has reported a couple of typos in configure.ac in the sections for Ultrix and Sony NewsOS (NEED_SETPRGP -> NEED_SETPGRP). Now I can't imagine them being heavily used, and the change ought to affect only those (famous last words :-). Anyone see any reason not to do this? SMF/process contracts in Solaris 10
I've searched the archive for this mailing list and the bug list for OpenSSH for this, and I'm finding nothing. I'd appreciate it if somoene could point me to an existing thread about this. (I know that other people are aware of the problem, though, so I'm a bit surprised to find nothing.) We're running OpenSSH under Solaris 10 using SMF instead of a legacy init script. SMF

Call for release testing
Hi All, We are planning on doing one of our regular releases (4.3/4.3p1) in around a week. This is a bugfix release, but a few of the portability bits have changed, so we would again appreciate testing on as many systems as possible. Some of the bugs fixed and internal improvements are: * X forwarding won't start when a command is executed in background (Bug #1086) * Change

Porting to Dynix 4.1.3...
Hello there, I am trying to build OpenSSH on the above (very old) version of unix. With a bit of hacking, I have managed to get everything to compile and run. Scp works fine however when I log in via ssh I end up with a session without a controlling terminal. I have followed the code in pty_make_controlling_tty and it seems to go as follows: 1. Starts with a controlling tty. 2. setsid works,

OpenSSH DNS resolution failure on IRIX 5.3: request to fix
Dear developers, as reported earlier, recent versions of OpenSSH (4.3p1, 4.3p2 as well as the current CVS) on IRIX 5.3 exhibit a DNS resolution failure. Even for perfectly valid hostnames they return "no address associated with name". After some digging through the code I found what is causing this strange behaviour. Basically it was introduced with the following change:

Patch for 'packet.c' in openssh-3.6.1p1
Hello, I just managed to compile openssh-3.6.1p1 on Ultrix/MIPS. One of the fixes needed for this is the following. It's because of: --- According to the Changelog - markus at cvs.openbsd.org 2002/12/10 19:26:50 [packet.c] move tos handling to packet_set_tos; ok provos/henning/deraadt --- This IP_TOS is now nicely stuffed in a function, but that function should be #defined

PAM and passwd age warnings again.
Hi all, This is a patch against 4.2p1 (compiling for a Linux --- an old, highly customized 7.2 to be specific). When I compiled it from your original source, installed it, and turned on PAM (for passwd aging), I couldn't get the passwd expiration warnings as specified in /etc/shadow to work at all (the message that is supposed to warn you as you're logging in that your passwd will expire
