How to get Centos to recognize a Motorola RAZR V3 as a USB device?
I have a mini-USB cable, but simply connecting a Motorola RAZR
to a Linux (Centos 6) PC to download stored pictures doesn't work,
at least not automatically.
Any idea what I need to do to get Centos to recognize that a
Motorola RAZR V3 is plugged in as a USB device?
(I don't have a data plan on this phone - I'm just trying to get
archived pictures off of it onto the computer.)

Proximity Detection: Motorola Q + Bluetooth + Asterisk
Hi,
Can anyone tell me if the Motorola Q has its Bluetooth always on like
the IPhone? I want to use the Motorola Q in a Proximity Detection setup
like that described on nerdvittles.com. I know the Treo 650 does not
work well since the display must be on for the bluetooth to be on and
this eats power.
Thanks

Anyone having any luck with Bluetooth?
I have read all the wiki's and blogs and how to links about Bluetooth but so
far no luck. I can confirm that CentOS5 sees my Bluetooth adapter and my
cell phone. No Joy on Asterisk 1.4. The information out there is kind of
confusing as there is a lot of outdated info sometimes referring to software
no longer actively developed.
What I think I have managed to conclude is that there is a

Bluetooth headset in handsfree modewith SJPhoneor X-lite
Hi,
You need to have completely replaced the Microsoft driver, because it
doesn't support the headset or ctp Bluetooth profiles. This gave me
fits! I followed the instructions at
http://www.windowsdevcenter.com/pub/a/windows/2005/07/05/bluetooth.html
and it works with both a Plantronics and a Motorola Headset, and I can
answer calls with idefisk, eyebeam, x-lite, and kapanga.

bluetooth audio and asterisk
Has anyone successfully used a standard bluetooth enabled system to
connect to a standard bluetooth enabled mobile phone (not the bluetooth
to FXS converters) to create an audio path for phone calls with
asterisk, if so is there a writeup on what was done so that others can
replicate this.
What I am thinking is that via alsa/oss/whatever you should be able to
use the bluetooth audio channel as a

Some feedback and issues on using chan_bluetooth
I have a Motorola Razr successfully connected to asterisk using a
bluetooth dongle and chan_bluetooth. Here's some issues I've run
across:
- You have to ignore the instructions in bluetooth.conf, saying to run
"sdptool search --bdaddr xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx 0x111F" to determine the
correct channel to use for your phone. My phone reported Channel 7,
but will not work with anything

GSM phones, bluetooth and general happiness
When I installed my first home-PBX three years ago, I was looking at
"cellsockets" -- devices which will accept certain cellular phones and
provide an RJ11 jack, generating the ring-voltage and recognizing DTMF,
which in turn makes your cell-phone look like a CO line. Pretty cool
stuff, in theory, but it just didn't seem to be worth the cost,
especially since it locks you to a

Cannot compile chan_bluetooth on Asterisk 1.2.1
The short of it:
I am unable to compile chan_bluetooth on Asterisk 1.2.1 on CentOS 4.2.
I installed using the Asterisk@Home 2.2 iso. Server is a plain
Celeron 2.93GHz box. Asterisk source is in /usr/src/asterisk, newest
chan_bluetooth source is in
/usr/src/asterisk-test/bluetooth/chan_bluetooth (I have two older
versions in other directories).
Steps taken:

How well does a celldock work with Asterisk?
I've seen in the wiki that it is possible to use a celldock device to
use a cell phone as a PSTN line to Asterisk, but I haven't seen any
comments as to how well this actually works. I was thinking about
hooking a celldock to a FXO input of my Digium TDM400P card and use it
to connect via bluetooth to my RAZR V3C. I am aware of the software
solution (chan_bluetooth), but my Asterisk

Bluetooth phone as SIP handset?
Even better you can set your firefly softphone to auto answer so that
you don't even need to be near the pc to answer.

chan_cellphone won't pair with phone
I'm running chan_cellphone version 13 on the latest svn trunk (as
root). I believe I have chan_cellphone set up correctly (bt addr and
port retrieved from the "cell search" CLI command). When I load the
chan_cellphone module, my Motorola V3m asks if I want to allow "Asterisk
PBX", I say yes and enter the 0000 for the pin, then my phone tells me
the pin is invalid. Here

OT - Chan-mobile -Bluetooth dongle on remote LAN workstation
Hello,
On a LAN, is it possible to install a bluetooth dongle on one workstation
(at this time, this workstation OS is not specified) and use it with
chan_mobile ?
I've read some USB over IP (or Ethernet) middleware exist but I'm not
certain I'm looking at the right direction.

Bluetooth headset in handsfree modewith SJPhoneorX-lite
I am able to pickup, hangup, and flash, using the buttons on the phone
with all of the soft clients and both of the headsets I mentioned below.
I don't believe I had to change anything on the client side, just had to
get the ctp (cordless telephone profile) working in the bluetooth stack,
which was a pita. I struggled with the same issue...I could use the
headset, but that's not very handy
