> This makes me think that the syslog approach is probably the way to go
Yeah, right.
Another idea is to mirror the current preauth load via setproctitle()...
That makes that data accessible even without a syscall (at least the
writing of the data - quering needs syscalls, right), so that can be
kept up-to-date and allows a high monitoring frequency as well.

OpenSSH 3.6.1p1 on NCR MP-RAS v4.3, several weird terminal problems
I compiled OpenSSH 3.6.1p1 on NCR MP-RAS v4.3 (or at least
"uname -a"'s output of 4.0.3.0 suggests v4.3, I'm not positive).
I was able to compile zlib (1.1.4) and openssl (0.9.7a) with little
trouble.
OpenSSH took hand-hacking the includes.h file as follows:
diff -cr openssh-3.6.1p1/includes.h openssh-3.6.1p1-customized/includes.h

4.2 and the 'last' command
We've run into an interesting dilemma regarding last log information and
ssh 4.2p1. In 3.8, we didn't see this problem, but now has cropped up
in 4.2.
When a user logs in, sshd seems to call 'last' to get the last log
information. 'last' then opens the /var/log/wtmp file and processes the
information. On some systems, this file can be quite large, and we're
seeing

Subset a datafram according to time
PREFERED WAY OF DOING IT
I have a data set of observations every second for a month long period, I
want to extract the observations according to the date & time of another
data frame ( the other data frame is in the same format). I want to do this
to match these observations to my test observations (in the other data
frame) which are done every 6 minutes. So basically im shrinking the

AIC from coxme
Hi,
I am running the following model:
fit1.full <- coxme(Surv(age_sym1, sym1) ~ sex + lifedxm*sex + (1|famid),
data=bip.surv)
I would like to extract the AIC from that object to calculate the AICC.
However, when I look at str(fit1.full) and summary(fit1.full) (pasted
below) I don't see anything that would allow me to get pull the AIC out
from that object.
Is there a way to retrieve the

assign index to colnames(matrix)
Hello, I’m trying to follow the syntax of a script from a journal website. In order to create a regression formula used later in the script, the regression matrix must have column names “X1”, “X2”, etc. I have tried to assign these column names to my matrix ScoutRSM.mat using a for loop, but I don’t know how to interpret the error message. Suggestions? Thanks, Paul
