What to do with ODD encoder for AudioGrabber Cd-Ripper ?
Once i've run into misfeature.
I've grabbed an Audio CD with one of russian opera's, and its comment been
wirttenas a 8-bit ANSI text.
When i tried to play them in WnAMP - the comments were unreadable.
Peter (the author of WinAMP OGG plugin) told me, that the comments must be
encoded using UTF-8.
I wrote it to the author of AudioGrabber and he told me he will forward it

Cannot start Amnesia nor Penumbra via Steam
Greetings!
First of all, I would like to say thank you to everyone who are spending their time into making Wine what it is, and better!
I would offer my help if I had the ability to actually do something, but I have yet much to learn, but in the future, perchance...
Anyways! A few days ago, I thought I would play some Penumbra: Overture. I have played it before, so I was a bit surprised as it

File descriptor leak in 1.0rc2[45]?
I upgraded (NetBSD 2.99 i386) from 1.0rc7 to 1.0rc24 and then tried rc25,
and in both cases need to restart Dovecot every day or so (low volume server).
It seems to run out of file descriptors. I have now raised the file descriptor
limit to 1024, but that is not a long-term solution...

Hotplug scripts not working
Hi all,
I''d like to know if it''s possible to have more verbose output when running a block-prefix script. Other than xend.log.
To be more specific I''d like to use bash -x to see why I''m running into the following error:
> # xm create -c host.cfg
> Using config file "host.cfg".
> aa:bb:cc:dd:ee:ff
> Error: Device 51712 (vbd) could not be

Fwd: what about storing free-cddb-id in comments inside .ogg ?
Is there a standard field inside OGG comments to save freedb-id of the
original CD, which track was grabbed from?
If not, may this be a little wish for Ogg Vorbis format specification?

Broadcasting w/o server
Ok, there are cool complex products such as SHOUTcast and
icecast, but is there some simplier solution?
What i need is simple plugin, allowing other guys in home
LAN listen the same thing that i do? I do not want to
download/install/setup one more program such as server. I
do not need complex things. Just one and very simple -
share my current winamp sound.

Regenerating puppet master certificate
Hi all,
Is there a more elegant way to regenerate the Puppet master certificate than what''s described in the CVE-2011-3872 toolkit?

Wine with 2x nVidia GTX260 lame peformance ingame?
Hi people.
So I got Steam running properly in WINE by reverting to version 177 of the nVidia driver. Now I have a new problem.
I have really shitty performance for Source games in WINE. This means rainbow-y colors, glistening walls, at ~13 fps with all lowest graphics settings.
High quality native linux games run beautifully at all highest settings, including Penumbra and Prey and Quake 4.

Karaoke
Ok, both mp3 with id2v2 and Vorbis allow you to store the lyrics within the
song.
But do You know about karaoke format? That is midi with lurics as one of the
tracks.
Can such a modification be made to OGG Vorbis?

Playing at custom resolution
I've got a display with a native resolution of 1920x1080. However, I usually play games at 1280x720 because I often like to create screencasts of the games I play (and my PC is not fast enough for capturing 1920x1080).
Now I noticed that wine does not provide the resolution I want, which means that this resolution does never appear in any game. If I set the resolution with commandline

Thanks for the reply. I'm thinking that the password would only be there

Wrapper script for shutdown, passwd, etc. commands
Hello all. Thank you for reading.
I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction here. I am looking
to implement a wrapper script/utility that will prompt for a ticket number
before running certain commands. I've used similar scripts in the past on
systems that I didn't have admin access.
The wrapper would do something like this:
[root at vm-helios-019] shutdown -h now

A masked function is a masked function by any other name
Dear all,
It looks like I do not grasp the concept of masked functions enough as
to solve this trivial problem.
The code that replicates the problem (a source code tree that realizes
a R package actually) is under github so one can call it clone it
easily from the command line (though more experienced users will spot
the problem by browsing through the package code):
git clone http://jcborras at
