OpenSSH 4.0p1 ignoring password authentication
Hello,
I recently compiled OpenSSH 4.0p1 with OpenSSL 0.9.7g on my Linux
2.6.11.3 machine. When I try to connect, the connection is
immediately closed. When I setup public key authentication, I am able
to login using my public key. However password authentication seems to
be ignored. I attached debugging output from both the server and
client.
$ ssh -vvv localhost

ssh 4.0 under AIX 5.3 password expiration
I have a user who's password has expired (ADMCHG) flag
is set in /etc/security/passwd under AIX 5.3. For
some reason it is not prompting for new passwd. This
worked in 3.9. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Ryan

? about portable version of sshd crashing
I am porting over the portable version of openssh to our uCLinux
implementation. Everything has worked with minimal effort and I appreciate
all the work.
But, I am having a problem whereby the sshd executable is crashing and I
really could use some help on where to look at this in more details.
Here is how I start up the sshd for testing.
/usr/sbin/sshd -D -ddd -f /etc/ssh/sshd_config -p 65

OpenSSH public key problem with Solaris 10
Hi ya'll-
I've got this odd openssh problem with Solaris 10 I was hoping someone
could shed some light on. Not sure if it is a bug... Basically I'm
trying to use pubkeys as an auth method, but am having issues. I can
log in using passwords no problem, but as soon as it notices a matching
public key it closes the connection. I ran the sshd server (on Solaris
10 box) in debug

Hung connection over Juniper Tunnel
Hello list!
So I recently reconfigured our office network to allow a permanent VPN
connection to our data center. This consists of a Juniper SSG-520
connected via a tunnel to a Juniper Netscreen-25 over a 100M leased
NTT VPN (yes I'm tunneling over the VPN as it's the only way to make
it routable.) Here is where OpenSSH come in. When I try and ssh to a
machine on the other end

OpenSSH public key problem with Solaris 10 and LDAP users?
Hello.
I've got a problem logging in to a Sparc Solaris 10 machine with
public key authentication. I searched, and found a similar problem
report at <http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.network.openssh.devel/12694>.
For that guy, the problem had to do with LDAP.
My user accounts are also stored in LDAP, an OpenLDAP server, to be
exact. That server runs on the same machine as the machine

FW: openssh 4.0 - sftp batch mode behavior
Hello,
I just installed the openssh 4.0 for Solaris. The users have reported a
difference in behavior when using the batch mode of sftp client.
Previously they could issue the following command sftp -b batchfile
user at hostname and in the absence of publickey authentication they would
be issued the password prompt and they could enter password and the
process would continue.

Winbind, Kerberos, SSH and Single Sign On
I can suggest a few things.
krb5.conf ( if you use nfsv4 with kerberized mounts _
[libdefaults]
ignore_k5login = true in
But, it does not look like it in you logs your useing kerberized mounts.
Im missing in SSHD_config :
UseDNS yes
And the defaults :
# GSSAPI options
GSSAPIAuthentication yes
GSSAPICleanupCredentials yes
Are sufficient for a normal ssh kerberized login.

Winbind, Kerberos, SSH and Single Sign On
Hi,
thanks for your hints. DNS, /etc/resolf.conf, /ets/hosts seem to be
correct. I'm able to do a kerberized ssh with a user from
subdom2.subdom1.example.de (testuser at SUBDOM2.SUBDOM1.EXAMPLE.DE) But I'm
not able to do the same with a user from example.de (user1 at EXAMPLE.DE).

Custom PAM module not working correctly
Hello,
I've developed a custom PAM module which only allows a user to
authenticate to the server only if another user of the same machine
also authenticates succesfully. It's currently a simple module which
also works as a PAM aware application since it authenticates each user
with PAM itself. Both the pamtester utility and su can use this module
correctly. However, when I try to use

I am out of ideas about what the problem is. I am using the default

start processes, but sshd fails to create a tty session. This happens
from remote machines and creating a session from the host machine. I
find the following under messages.

openssh-2.3.0p1 (Linux) fails using options with dss key
I'm trying to change my local setup from ssh2 to openssh-2.3.0p1. I need
captive comands and specific environments for each key, i.e. the
"command=XXX" and "environment=X=y" options. Unfortunately I *also* need
to support the existing ssh2 client for a transition period, since it's
impractical to change all user's environments to openssh in one go.
I have converted
