similar to: PAM authentication

Greetings All, I am trying to get sshd to authenticate using PAM in a situation where there is no password entry (as found by getpwent et. al.) for a user. Setting: AllowUsers * UsePAM yes causes the right PAM stuff to be invoked, but as soon as the PAM module tries to have a conversation with the (illegal) user (in order to get the password) sshd throws out the authentication context.

Here is an executable that would allow a user to change the linux and SMB passwords simultaneously. The website indicated in the comments had some problems in the code, but they are fixed in the cpasswd.c file which is below and also attached. Hope that this helps others. The code is a fix, not a solution. it only works from the command prompt, but it helps with keeping linyx and Samba

We have a reproducible problem with FreeBSD-4.7 which is apparently a deadlock. The system is undergoing a filesystem stress test. The machine is pingable, but console and most other features are unresponsive. The console debugger can be accessed. The following information is available with db's "ps". I suspect the wchan of "inode" to be what everything is waiting on.

I think this might be caused by glibc 2.28. I saw a similar error with the "doveadm purge" command after upgrading my system to that version. This is bit of a longshot, but can you try applying https://github.com/dovecot/core/commit/63a74b9.patch and see if this helps? On our campus, we have an AD forest. Our particular department has a number of samba servers that authenticate to one tree of that AD forest. All of our users have accounts in LDAP for unix and AD for windows. We don't want/need winbind for authentication.
