virt-viewer X forwarding through ssh broken since FC17 upgrade?
Ever since I upgraded my laptop from FC15 to FC17, I've been getting this message when I ssh to some RHEL6 hosts inside Red Hat. In particular, I'm trying to do this: virt-viewer --connect \ qemu+ssh://kvm11.devlab.phx1.redhat.com/system \ bork-s01.candlepin.dev.devlab.phx1.redhat.com This is the message I get: X11 forwarding request failed on channel 0 A viewer window pops

rsync/ssh/cygwin
I've been using rsync under Win2k(cygwin) for some time without error. But after a recent upgrade of cygwin I've started to get errors, and rsync no longer works. I'm not sure if this is a rsync problem, ssh problem, or cygwin problem, so I figured I'd try here first (since ssh seems to work fine). On my windows machine: > rsync --version rsync version 2.5.6 protocol

ssh -Y X-forwarding?
On rare occasions I want to run a remote X command (like 'meld' to interactively merge changes in files) and normally 'ssh -Y remote_host' from a terminal in an NX/freenx window that is acting as my desktop to start and any X program subsequently started would open in a new window via X-forwarding - at least when the target is a 5.x host. I don't do it often enough to remember

SSH & xauth (fwd)
YO All! Have you guys been following the SSH discussion on Bugtraq lately? I like their idea the X forwarding should be OFF by default on the client. ssh/openssh and X authentication
I've currently got a couple of boxes which obtain their IP address via DHCP, and as a consequence do not have a mapping in /etc/hosts for their own IP/name... but helpfully (!) they have their name mapping to 127.0.0.1 This breaks X authentication... - openssh (and also ssh) makes an apparently valid xauth entry, but all attempts to start clients gives "X11 connection rejected

X11 problems on AIX (OpenSSH_3.7.1p2-pwexp24)

X forwarding / hostname
Hi, I'm running OpenSSH-1.2.2p1 under RH Linux 6.1. One of my machines is a laptop, and its IP address tends to change as I move it around. I have set its kernel hostname to "vaio.linnet.org", and have the following in /etc/hosts to ensure this name is always usable: 127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost vaio.linnet.org Now, the problem is with X forwarding. If I ssh into

What did I mess up?
Since I had a problem and resolved with the JuiceSSH app on Android a couple of weeks ago, I've had a new problem with one of my local machines. Although I've checked everything I remember changing back then, I can't find the cause and would appreciate a clue or two. (Note, JuiceSSH is not involved in this problem.) I have four local machines which should be able to use "ssh
